Term Position definition
Term Position. A position occupied by a full-time or part-time nurse for a specified period of time, up to a maximum of sixty (60) weeks, where patient/client/resident census or workload necessitates a temporary increase in staffing, if mutually agreed, to replace a nurse(s) who is/are on vacation or leave of absence, or to carry out a special short term project or where the Employer has provided notice of permanent deletion of position(s) under the Memorandum of Understanding regarding Employment Security, or as otherwise mutually agreed between the Union and the Employer. If the Employer determines there is a term position to be filled by a nurse, the term position shall be posted in accordance with Article 30. This shall not preclude the Employer from utilizing part-time nurses and/or casual nurses to work available shifts as specified in Articles 34 and 35 when the Employer decides that a term position is not required. The Employer shall provide written confirmation of the start and expiry dates of the term position prior to the nurse's commencement in the position. This period may be extended if the Employer so requests and the Union agrees. The maximum duration specified in paragraph 1 above for term positions shall not apply in situations where a nurse is absent indefinitely due to Workers Compensation and/or illness and/or accident or where there is a temporary vacancy due to leave for Public Office. In these cases, the Employer shall state on the job posting that the said term position is an "Indefinite Term" which will expire subject to a minimum of twenty-four
Term Position means a position with a specific start and end date, the duration of which is known in advance to exceed ninety (90) calendar days in a school year.
Term Position means a bargaining unit position with a start date and an end date, which will, or is anticipated to, exceed six months duration in a school year. A term position will end:
(a) at the expiry of the term, or
(b) upon the return of the absent employee, or
(c) when the position is posted and filled permanently.

COBEA will be provided notice in writing of all external and internal employees hired into or continued in a Limited Term position within the bargaining unit.
Current COBEA employees appointed to a Limited Term position will retain all terms and conditions of the CBA and, upon conclusion of assignment will be returned to their regular position without loss of seniority.
More Definitions of Term Position
Term Position means a position occupied by an Employee for a specified period of time, to replace another Employee who is on a leave of absence, or sick leave for a period of time expected to exceed three (3) months or to carry out a special short term project in excess of three (3) months. The term will not exceed one (1) year unless mutually agreed between the Employer and the Union.
Term Position means a vacancy for a period of forty-five (45) days or more with a specific start date and termination date that occurs due to the unpaid absence of an Employee, with the exception of a leave because of Pregnancy, Parental, Adoption, or compensable Workers’ Compensation, or a vacancy that occurs when additional permanent hours are added to schools after the thirtieth (30th) day of September;
Term Position shall be for a specific time period or until completion of a particular project, of a minimum duration of three (3) months and a maximum duration of one (1) year. This period may be extended if the Employer so requests and the Union agrees. Any term positions resulting directly from the above will be posted in the same manner.
Term Position. A position occupied by a full-time or part-time nurse for a specified period of time, up to a maximum of sixty (60) weeks, or up to a maximum of eighty (80) weeks to replace a nurse(s) who is/are on Parenting Leave or Parental Leave, where patient/client/resident census or workload necessitates a temporary increase in staffing, if mutually agreed, to replace a nurse(s) who is/are on vacation or leave of absence, or to carry out a special short term project or where the Employer has provided notice of permanent deletion of position(s) under Employment Security provisions in Article 27, or as otherwise mutually agreed between the Union and the Employer. If the Employer determines there is a term position to be filled by a nurse, the term position shall be posted in accordance with Article
Term Position means work for a definite period of time greater than two (2) months but less than forty-eight (48) months. Such positions shall be posted in accordance with this agreement.
Term Position shall be for a specific period or until completion of a particular project within a specific department, of a minimum duration of three (3) months and a maximum duration of two (2) years.
(i) When the Employer determines that a term position, as described above exists, the position shall be posted in accordance with Article 18 and filled in accordance with Article 42. All employees within the bargaining unit may apply for the term position, subject to specified limitations on employees already working in term positions.
(ii) For situations related to Workers Compensation and/or illness and/or accident or parental leave or where a definitive expiry date cannot be specified, the Employer shall state on the job posting that the said term position will expire subject to twenty-four (24) hours’ notice of return of the current incumbent to their position. The employee occupying the said term position shall receive notice equivalent to the amount of notice the employee returning from leave provides the Employer, as referenced above.
(iii) An employee in a term position may be required to complete the term before being considered for other term positions within the bargaining unit.
Term Position means a position designated by the Employer as a project or replacement position or term-certain for other specified reasons, having a set expiry date. A term position shall be at least six (6) months in duration and may be Full-time or Part-time. If a Permanent Employee is assigned to a term position, they retain their permanent status and right to return to their permanent position at the end of the term assignment.
