Term Position definition

Term Position. A position occupied by a full-time or part-time nurse for a specified period of time, up to a maximum of sixty (60) weeks, where patient/client/resident census or workload necessitates a temporary increase in staffing, if mutually agreed, to replace a nurse(s) who is/are on vacation or leave of absence, or to carry out a special short term project or where the Employer has provided notice of permanent deletion of position(s) under the Memorandum of Understanding regarding Employment Security, or as otherwise mutually agreed between the Union and the Employer. If the Employer determines there is a term position to be filled by a nurse, the term position shall be posted in accordance with Article 30. This shall not preclude the Employer from utilizing part-time nurses and/or casual nurses to work available shifts as specified in Articles 34 and 35 when the Employer decides that a term position is not required. The Employer shall provide written confirmation of the start and expiry dates of the term position prior to the nurse's commencement in the position. This period may be extended if the Employer so requests and the Union agrees. The maximum duration specified in paragraph 1 above for term positions shall not apply in situations where a nurse is absent indefinitely due to Workers Compensation and/or illness and/or accident or where there is a temporary vacancy due to leave for Public Office. In these cases, the Employer shall state on the job posting that the said term position is an "Indefinite Term" which will expire subject to a minimum of twenty-four
Term Position shall be for a specific time period or until completion of a particular project, of a minimum duration of three (3) months and a maximum duration of one (1) year. This period may be extended if the Employer so requests and the Union agrees. Any term positions resulting directly from the above will be posted in the same manner.

More Definitions of Term Position

Term Position means a position occupied by an Employee for a specified period of time, to replace another Employee who is on a leave of absence, or sick leave for a period of time expected to exceed three (3) months or to carry out a special short term project in excess of three (3) months. The term will not exceed one (1) year unless mutually agreed between the Employer and the Union.
Term Position shall be for a specific period or until completion of a particular project within a specific department, of a minimum duration of three (3) months and a maximum duration of two (2) years.
Term Position means a bargaining unit position with a start date and an end date, which will, or is anticipated to, exceed six months duration in a school year. A term position will end:
Term Position means a position that is for a defined period of time in excess of six (6) months and no longer than twelve (12) months for a specified project or to fill Bargaining Unit absences of greater than six (6) months. The period of a Term Position may be extended for an additional twelve (12) months with the approval of the Union. Unless filling a vacancy, Term positions lasting longer than twenty-four (24) months shall be considered permanent and the position shall be posted.
Term Position is a defined EFT position that is for a specific time period or until completion of a particular project or purpose. For situations related to workers compensation and/or illness and/or accident or where a definitive expiry date cannot be specified, the Employer shall state on the job posting that the said term position will expire subject to twenty-four (24) hours notice of return of the current incumbent to her position. The employee occupying the said term position shall receive notice equivalent to the amount of notice the employee returning from leave provides the Employer, as referenced above. Term positions, except as referenced above, will be a minimum duration of three (3) months and a maximum duration of one (1) year, and shall be posted and awarded in accordance with #9 herein - “Recruitment and Selection”. The term period may be extended if the Employer so requests and the Union and employee agree. For term vacancies of three (3) months or less expected duration, the Employer may fill the vacancy as per #8 herein - “Part-time Employees”. Where this is not possible, due to insufficient availability of part-time employees, the Employer may fill the vacancy by using available casual employees.
Term Position means a vacancy for a period of forty-five (45) days or more with a specific start date and termination date that occurs due to the unpaid absence of an Employee, with the exception of a leave because of Pregnancy, Parental, Adoption, or compensable Workers’ Compensation, or a vacancy that occurs when additional permanent hours are added to schools after the thirtieth (30th) day of September;
Term Position means a position with a specific start and end date, the duration of which is known in advance to exceed ninety (90) calendar days in a school year.
