A promotion definition

A promotion means a permanent vertical move to a higher paid classification and, similarly, a demotion means a permanent vertical move to a lower paid classification (see 8.07).
A promotion means a vertical move to a higher paid classification contained in this Agreement which will result in an increase in salary and similarly a demotion means a vertical move to a lower paid classification contained in this Agreement.
