Professional Development Policy. The University shall reimburse permanent full-time staff members for credit courses taken at OCAD University conditional upon successful completion of the course. It is agreed that in determining whether a full-time staff member meets normal academic and other admission requirements, staff members shall be considered on exactly the same basis as any other person seeking acceptance into such course.

Professional Development Policy. The College supports the principle of maintaining and developing faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that the maintenance of currency of subject knowledge and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, particularly instructional skills, are the goals of professional development activities. At this stage of the College's development, limited funds and resources are available for professional development. Regular full time faculty who have been employed full time for at least one (1) year are eligible to apply for professional development assistance. Upon recommendation by the Xxxx of Academics, professional development for contract faculty may also be considered if the contract faculty has completed 300 teaching hours. If the Association and the College agree, the College may waive the 300 hour requirement. The expertise that resides in the College is considerable, and professional development by faculty sharing their expertise with colleagues will be encouraged. Finally, experts external to the College may be brought in from time to time for the professional benefit and development of faculty.
Professional Development Policy. TXVSN Professional Development Policy Texas Education Agency (TEA) recommends that all teachers who are interested in teaching online for the Texas Virtual School Network (TXVSN) complete the required TXVSN-approved professional development course for quality online teaching offered by one of the professional development providers listed on the TXVSN website at xxx.xxxxx.xxx. TXVSN course providers are responsible for requesting and maintaining documentation of potential online teachers’ successful completion of TXVSN-approved professional development. It is the responsibility of each online teacher to obtain documentation of successful completion from the provider of TXVSN-approved professional development. TXVSN central operations highly recommends that teachers also maintain a copy of the completed professional development for their own records. After meeting the initial professional development requirement, all teachers must have continuing professional development specific to online learning every three years to continue to meet the requirements to teach courses through the TXVSN. Teachers continue their professional development by attending workshops, seminars, conferences, staff and team meetings, specific courses provided by recognized educational institutes and as well as other educational experiences which are approved by Administration. Reading and dialogue with other professionals are also part of professional development.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice.   • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Professional Development Committee There shall be a Professional Development Committee composed of at least two (2) representatives of the Association and an equal number of representatives from the Hospital. Each party may have alternates to replace a member from time to time.

  • Professional Development and Training 4.1 The purpose of professional development and training requirements for interpreters is to maintain the skill levels interpreters possess at the time they pass their interpreter certification examination, and to further enhance their skills and knowledge.
