Online Teaching Sample Clauses

The Online Teaching clause defines the terms and conditions under which teaching or instruction is delivered via digital platforms rather than in-person. It typically outlines the responsibilities of both instructors and students, specifies the required technology or software, and may address issues such as attendance, participation, and assessment in an online environment. This clause ensures that both parties understand their obligations and expectations in a remote learning context, thereby reducing misunderstandings and facilitating effective online education.
Online Teaching. Teachers will be paid $50 per student, per course, per semester.
Online Teaching. A. The District has the right to assign online teaching as a part of the normal duty day. Any online teaching assignments in excess of a full-time position will be compensated in accordance with the online teaching salary schedule (Appendix C). B. The following criteria are applicable for eachassignment: 1. Minimum of five (5) students unless agreed to by the teacher. 2. Compensation for development of the course will be paid at the curriculum writing rate. 3. Assignment only of teachers with the appropriate Minnesota licensure. 4. Assignment of an online class will follow guidelines for assignment of a regular class.
Online Teaching. If the need arises for an online program, the Board and Association will meet to discuss the program before implementation.
Online Teaching. In order to be up to date with current regulations, all faculty certified before August 2024 shall complete an online teaching update by June 30, 2028, as defined below. Each faculty member may choose one of the following paths for their Initial Online Teaching Update: (a) The faculty member may successfully complete a training, of no more than 40 hours, in online teaching provided by the District. (b) The faculty member may successfully complete a course, or series of courses, in online pedagogy approved by DECOS. A faculty member may present evidence of equivalent training for approval by the DECOS. (c) The faculty member may submit an online course from the last four (4) years for a local peer review by a trained faculty peer reviewer. The faculty member may request their preferred faculty peer reviewer if available. This peer review shall not be used by the District for evaluative purposes. The decision by the District regarding the qualifications of a faculty member to teach online is subject to the grievance provisions of this Agreement.
Online Teaching. A. Faculty who have completed Moodle Learn (or its equivalent), Quality Matters “Teaching Online” (TOL) (or its equivalent), either the Quality Matters “Designing Your Blended Course” (DYBC) or “Designing Your Online Course” (DYOC) (or their equivalents), and Quality Matters “Applying the QM Rubric” (APPQMR) (or its equivalent), are certified to teach SMC online and HyFlex courses. The determination of what is equivalent to Moodle Learn and all Quality Matters’ modules rests with the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. B. Given the College’s reliance on the Moodle Learning Management System for all classes, all SMC full-time faculty need to be certified in Quality Matters’ “Teaching Online” (TOL) (or its equivalent), even if the individual faculty member will never teach a hybrid or online course. C. Faculty who complete the full trio of Quality Matters training [i.e., TOL + DYBC or DYOC + APPQMR (or their equivalents)] shall receive a $500 stipend. Faculty who complete less than the full trio of the Quality Matters training shall receive $150 per course completed. D. The seat enrollment cap will be set at 22 for all online and HyFlex courses. To most effectively manage enrollment, this cap may be extended by the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ to 24 to prevent having to open a new section of the course. E. Faculty shall not be assigned to teach an online or HyFlex course without their consent. F. The faculty member(s) who developed the online course shall have the right of first refusal to teach the online assignment(s) for that course each semester except as limited by (G) below. G. Faculty will be required to teach at least one (1) course in-person (face-to-face) each spring and each fall semester. HyFlex and Hybrid qualify as face-to-face. If this provision impedes a faculty member’s right of first refusal as stated in (F) directly above, the faculty member may provide input to the applicable ▇▇▇▇ and Chair with regards to an alternative online-certified instructor to teach that course for that semester.

Additionally, they must currently be teaching or in the past have taught at least one lecture based credit course at Dutchess Community College before developing an online learning course(s). No Educator will be assigned an online learning course without prior training in an appropriate Course Management System (CMS) and without his/her consent. A Full-Time Educator must successfully teach an online course at least one semester before seeking permission to teach an additional online course. The preparation to teach an approved additional online course can only take place during or after the second semester of teaching the current online course. (b) NTEs‌ Online teaching assignments may not interfere with or be fulfilled during an NTE’s regular work schedule without a schedule adjustment and written permission of the NTE’s Supervising ▇▇▇▇.

This payment shall be for learning and applying the CMS and relevant pedagogy to teach an online course. iii. For any subsequent online learning course(s) taught by a Full-Time Educator, or for course development by a Full-Time Educator with documented prior training in an appropriate CMS, one (1) lecture hour at the appropriate teaching rate will be paid to the Educator in the preparation semester for applying the appropriate CMS and relevant pedagogy to the development of each additional online learning course. iv. The Full-Time Educator teaching an online course must have specific course information including a syllabus, schedule, and introductory announcement placed in the CMS at least one week before the commencement of the semester in which the course is to be taught.

  • Training a. The employer, in consultation with the local, shall be responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing harassment and sexual harassment awareness program for all employees. Where a program currently exists and meets the criteria listed in this agreement, such a program shall be deemed to satisfy the provisions of this article. This awareness program shall initially be for all employees and shall be scheduled at least once annually for all new employees to attend. b. The awareness program shall include but not be limited to: i. the definitions of harassment and sexual harassment as outlined in this Agreement; ii. understanding situations that are not harassment or sexual harassment, including the exercise of an employer's managerial and/or supervisory rights and responsibilities; iii. developing an awareness of behaviour that is illegal and/or inappropriate; iv. outlining strategies to prevent harassment and sexual harassment; v. a review of the resolution of harassment and sexual harassment as outlined in this Agreement; vi. understanding malicious complaints and the consequences of such; vii. outlining any Board policy for dealing with harassment and sexual harassment; viii. outlining laws dealing with harassment and sexual harassment which apply to employees in B.C.
