Regional Offices. Regional employees faced with layoff may transfer to either the Chicago or Springfield Office and assume the position of the least senior member of his job classification or the position of the least senior member of a lower-rated job classification the employee previously performed in a satisfactory manner, provided that the employee has more seniority as defined in Section 4.2 of this Agreement. If the Regional Office of the laid- off employee is located more than 100 miles from the Chicago or Springfield Office, the employee may assume the position of the least senior member of his/her job classification or the position of the least senior member of a lower-rated job classification the employee previously performed in a satisfactory manner, in the nearest Regional Office located within one hundred (100) miles of the laid-off employee's Regional Office, provided that he/she has more seniority as defined in Section 4.2 of this Agreement.

Our Regional Directors and staff live in the communities in which they work. Based on the discussions that take place at these meetings priorities are set, and that is how we align ourselves to address stakeholder needs. Internal and interdepartmental consultations continuously take place as New Brunswick strives to maximize its labour force to meet challenges of today’s labour market and into the future.
