Electrical Worker Grade. 2 This person, in addition to meeting the requirements and being able to carry out all the functions of a Electrical Worker Grade 1, will be able to perform the following duties: Capable of testing any electrical system including but not limited to: • Emergency lighting • Evacuation systems • Fire detection systems • Successful completion of Certificate III in Fire Protection Control UEE31020, including the following units of competency; o Inspect and test emergency and exit lighting systems CPPES2026; or o Successful completion of a course or units of competency of a course, the commission considers is at least equivalent to the course of units of competency as per Certificate III in Fire Protection Control UEE31020 This person with minimal supervision and assistance will be able to interchange test runs and demonstrate the operation of systems to clients, insurers and appropriate personnel.

Electrical Worker Grade. 4 This person, in addition to meeting the requirements and being able to carry out the functions of Electrical Worker Grade 3 will be able to fulfil the following duties and requirements. • Have the ability to survey & report on prescribed safety systems • Understand FER and building regulations and legislation in system compliance • Have a working knowledge of the Fire Safety Act, NCC, BSFR & State legislation • Capability of carrying out Annual Testing as required under the relevant standards eg AS1851 • Compile compliance and defect reports and quotations where required
Electrical Worker Grade. 8 A Electrical Worker who has fulfilled all requirements of a Grade 7A technician and who is engaged in applying their knowledge and skills to the tasks of repairing, installing, maintaining, servicing, modifying, commissioning, programming, fault finding and diagnosing various forms of systems which are addressable and complex including interfaces to other building management systems where required. The application of this skill and knowledge would require an overall understanding of the operating principles of systems and equipment on which the tradesperson is required to carry out their tasks. To be classified as a Electrical Worker Grade 8, a worker must have at least 5 years fire industry experience in cpmplex addressable systems. In addition, to be classified as an Electrical Worker Grade 8, a tradesperson must be capable of: • Maintaining and repairing multi-panel addressable systems. Comprehend cause and effect matrixes, interpret and FER and associated equipment interfaces • Working autonomously without supervision and technical guidance. • Providing technical guidance within the scope of the work described in this definition. • Preparing reports of a technical nature on specific tasks or assignments as directed and within the scope of the work described in this definition. • Including and Electrical Workers with a Dual Trade qualification Including and Electrical Workers who hold the Hazardous Area qualification “ survey”
