Apprentice Rates. Competency Based Progression The wage rates for each stage of the apprenticeship are set out in clause 5.3.1 above. The conditions for progression to each stage are set out in the following table.

Apprentice Rates. Stage of Training Basic Pay Weekly Rates based (xxxxx per hour) on 39 hours. £ Year 1 (570) £222.30 Year 2 (680) £265.20 Year 3 without NVQ 2 (793) £309.27 Year 3 with NVQ 2 (1015) £395.85 Year 3 with NVQ 3 (1267) £494.13 On completion with NVQ 2 (1267) £494.13 APPRENTICES and the NATIONAL MINIMUM & LIVING WAGE Employers should note that if an apprentice is in the second or final year of training and aged between 21 and 24 then the National Minimum Wage must apply. For apprentices aged 25 and over and in the second or final year of training the National Living Wage must apply. These are enforceable by HMRC. Currently the National Minimum Wage for someone aged 21 to 24 is £7.70 per hour and the National Living Wage for someone aged 25 and over is currently £8.21 per hour. These will increase from 1st April 2020.
Apprentice Rates. The wage schedule for Apprentices in all departments shall be based on current Journeyman Platen Pressmen’s rates. Should any Apprentice operate a press of a higher rate, he shall receive the appropriate percentage of that rate. The percentage shall be as follows: 1st 6 months - 60% of Journeyman Xxxxxxxx’x Rate 2nd 6 months - 65% of Journeyman Xxxxxxxx’x Rate 3rd 6 months - 70% of Journeyman Xxxxxxxx’x Rate 4th 6 months - 75% of Journeyman Xxxxxxxx’x Rate 5th 6 months - 80% of Journeyman Xxxxxxxx’x Rate 6th 6 months - 85% of Journeyman Xxxxxxxx’x Rate 7th 6 months - 90% of Journeyman Xxxxxxxx’x Rate 8th 6 months - 95% of Journeyman Xxxxxxxx’x Rate

Apprentice Rates. Apprentices will not receive their step progression until all requirements and skills have been completed for the applicable steps. The Construction Training Committee will determine if an apprentice, through no fault of his / her own cannot receive classroom or on-the-job training. The Apprentice will not be held back in his / her rate of progression. The Apprenticeship Committee will be formed within six (6) months of ratification of this contract as per Article 5.
Apprentice Rates. Operating Engineer Apprentice wage scales are established by the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Board of Trustees. The percentage of Journeyman pay paid each apprentice is based upon the number of hours worked in the program and is approved by the United States Department of Labor. This can be only altered with that Agency’s approval. With the exception of training, all other fringe contributions shall be paid as Journeyman. The actual specifics may be obtained from the Joint Apprentice and Training Offices. APPENDIX “1”
