Donated Sick Leave. Certified staff members may donate up to two of their accumulated sick leave days to another certified staff member who has exhausted all paid leave, and who becomes subject to a pay deduct for absence because said employee requires hospitalization or must be absent from work due to: (1) treatment for cancer; (2) heart attack or heart surgery; (3) accident or injury that required immediate medical attention followed by a physician’s directive to remain away from work for rest and recovery; (4) terminal illness, (5) major organ transplant; (6) stroke; (7) tumor or (8) any catastrophic illness or disease comparable to those specifically enumerated in this section as determined by the Human Resource Director who’s discretion on the question of eligibility shall be final. NOTE: The need to remain at home for any of the aforementioned reasons must be supported by a physician’s statement. The aggregate number of sick leave days that a staff member may receive shall not exceed 60 days, or the number of days that said staff member needs to be placed on Long Term Disability Insurance without pay loss whichever is less.
Donated Sick Leave. Sick leave days, contributed by other faculty, may be made available to a faculty member who is suffering from a prolonged personal illness, has exhausted his/her accumulated sick leave and personal leave, and has a reasonable expectation of returning to work. The Association’s Sick Leave Committee will administer the donated sick leave days. An Association unit member shall submit a request in writing to the Sick Leave Committee. The Committee shall consist of 3 members of the bargaining unit appointed by the President of the Association. The Sick Leave Committee will utilize the following criteria in determining a member’s need: 1) statement of request from the faculty member; 2) certification of illness by a physician; 3) estimation of date of return by a physician; 4) proof of need. A faculty member may voluntarily donate sick days for another faculty member’s use by notifying the Sick Leave Committee and submitting a written, signed and dated request. The request must specify the intended recipient faculty member and the number of sick leave days to be donated. Each faculty member, who shall remain anonymous, will be limited to donating a maximum of two
Donated Sick Leave. 1. Employees may choose to donate any accrued, but unused, sick leave to another City employee who has exhausted his or her accrued leave due to a disability caused by prolonged illness or injury of the employee or a member of his/her immediate family, subject to and in the manner set forth in Human Resources Policy and Procedures, Policy 614, except as modified herein. Sick leave donations will be made in hourly increments. In order for employees to donate accrued unused sick leave as stated herein, the donating employee must have a minimum 80 hours of banked unused sick leave for themselves. The donated sick leave may not cause the donating employee to fall below the minimum hours required to be banked as stated herein and the donating employee may not donate more than a total of 24 hours of unused sick leave in any fiscal year.
Donated Sick Leave a. Certificated employees who have accumulated a balance of over fifty (50) days of sick leave may donate sick leave to another member of the certificated employee bargaining unit who qualifies for leave due to an unforeseen event affecting the employee’s health. The affected employee must accept the donated leave and also be in danger of exhausting all fully paid leaves of absence due to his/her condition.
Donated Sick Leave. During the school year any teacher may, at the teacher’s discretion, donate not more than two (2) days, nor less than one (1) day, of sick leave to another teacher who is in need and shall have exhausted sick leave and extended sick leave due to illness or disability. The yearly total of such donated sick leave shall not exceed forty-five (45) days per individual. Any such donor shall notify the Missoula Education Association President, on forms provided, of the intention to make such donation. Donated leave shall be drawn in order of date of such receipt. A drawing shall be conducted to determine order of usage for donations bearing identical dates of receipt. Any unused sick leave shall be returned to the donors at the end of the fiscal year.
Donated Sick Leave. A Teacher may, at the Teacher’s discretion, on an annual basis donate up to two (2) days of sick leave to another Teacher who is in need. The sick leave recipient shall have exhausted all sick leave attributed to a personal illness or an illness in the immediate family as defined in Article VIII, Section 3, Subd. 3 of the Master Agreement. Donors shall notify the President of the Xxxxxxxx Education Association, on forms provided, of the intention to make such donation. Donated leave shall be used in the order of date of receipt. Unused sick leave shall be credited to the donors. The Xxxxxxxx Education Association will maintain records of donations, usage, and credits. The Superintendent and the President of the Xxxxxxxx Education Association, or their designees, will jointly review requests for donated sick leave.
