The Sick Leave. Pool Committee may require any teacher, who wishes to use the pool, to furnish reasonable evidence or a statement from their attending physician certifying that absence from work was required for one of the reasons set forth in this Article. Abuse of sick leave may be grounds for discipline or termination actions. This action may include a suspension for two (2) days without pay for each violation of the sick leave pool policy and specifically supersedes any provision to the contrary found on the Ohio Revised Code including, but not limited to, R.C. 3319.16.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Except as otherwise may be provided in this Article, the Principal shall be entitled to accrue and use sick leave as provided in the regulations of the Alaska Department of Education, 4 AAC 15.040. At the beginning of the work year, the Principal shall be pre-credited with the sick leave days anticipated to be accrued during the year. The value of pre-credited days in excess of accrual shall be deducted from the Principal’s final paycheck upon termination. The Principal shall be responsible for notifying the immediate supervisor as far in advance of the use of sick leave as possible. A statement by an attending physician or health aide may be required for sick leave, at the discretion of the immediate supervisor or Superintendent.
