Donated leave that remains unused once the employee is released by the physician for full-time work, when the family member’s condition no longer requires the employee’s absence, or at the end of the leave calendar year, must be returned to the donors in inverse order of donation.
Donated leave may not be applied to the required 20-workday accumulation period.
Donated leave time shall be changed to its cash value and then credited to the recipient in equivalent hours at the recipient’s straight time hourly rate of pay.
Donated leave shall be considered sick leave, but shall never be converted into a cash benefit.
Donated leave may be transferred from employees within the same agency, or with the approval of the heads or designees of both of the state agencies, higher education institutions, or school districts/education service districts, to an employee of another state agency, higher education institution, or school district/educational district.
