TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO referred to as the Company and the Union each agree that the purpose and the intent this Agreement to promote co-operation and harmony, to mutual interests, to provide a channel through which information a problems may be transmitted from one to the other, to formulate rules govern the relationship between the Union and the Company, to efficiency and service and set forth herein the basic controlling sates of pay, hours 'of work, dispute procedure, a: conditions of employment. TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO. 213 Affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, of the City of Vancouver, Province of British Columbia (Hereinafter referred to as the "Union') Re: Office and clerical work and classifications covered by the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement This Letter of Understanding follows upon the discussions by the parties during these negotiations regarding what office jobs or work that are deemed unionized, thus covered by the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Considering that at the time this issue initially transpired nothing was documented in writing; The Employer and the Union agree to the following descriptions and definitions regarding the work that is unionized and that which is not as well as the intentional scope of the bargaining unit as it pertains to office and clerical work: The unionized office employees perform clerical work that is strictly related to the Distribution Center These employees execute the clerical tasks that evolve from the Distribution Center functions of the business. All the other clerical work, tasks and responsibilities at this location will remain non-unionized. Thus, without precluding the generality of the above-mentioned descriptions, the non-unionized clerical work, tasks and responsibilities include more particularly those emanating from the store (branches), sales duties, marketing support, equipment support, product line & computer support and those of the administrative assistant. Considering that following ratification of the renewal of the collective agreement the driver classification will no longer exist as part of that renewal, the following shall transpire following ratification. The Employer will grant the existing unionized drivers from Branch #397, Xxx Eng, Xxxx Xxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx the option of either maintaining employment with UAP Inc. by integrating the Warehouse in the classification of parts-handlers at the rate granted by their seniority or obtain an eight (8) week lump sum notice and severance payment and a lay-off notice for lack of work, which means they loose their seniority and their employment with UAP Inc.
