Stakeholder Support. Stakeholder involvement is essential for the success of an ecosystem-wide environmental program. The Stakeholder Involvement Plan (SIP) in Appendix A is intended to describe basic community goals. Stakeholder input will also help to further develop the program specifics and evaluate Project performance. Public meetings will be held to inform the general public about the Project and to invite their comments and participation. The first public meeting was held to introduce the public to the Project and the Agreement development process. Other public meetings may be held during implementation of the Agreement based on public interest or as decided by the direct participants. Public meeting locations will be chosen to provide adequate size and accessibility to all who wish to attend.
Stakeholder Support. Two methods were used to inform stakeholders of the proceedings of this pilot project and the occurrence of the first public meeting on November 19, 1999. A public notice was published on October 5, 1999 in the Xxxxxx Record Chronicle and individual letters of invitation were mailed to a comprehensive list of 47 stakeholders. Stakeholders included sixteen (16) Industrial Users, two (2) universities, Citizens for Healthy Growth, the Xxxxxx Xxxxxx of the Sierra Club, TNRCC regional office and headquarters, Xxxxxx County Environmental Health, and seventeen (17) national environmentally concerned organizations. Fourteen (14) participants attended the first public meeting. These attendees were represented by staff of EPA, TNRCC, City of Denton, IUs, and UNT. Because of the accelerated schedule required to meet rulemaking and publication deadlines, the second public meeting occurred on December 10, 1999. Stakeholders were invited by direct telephone calls.

In addition, County shall seek to obtain assurances, letters, and/or resolutions of stakeholder support on the recommended alternative, prior to the Public Hearing for the PD&E.
Stakeholder Support. The Andersen CAC has been established and has functioned as the primary contact with the local community and other stakeholder groups. It is important to the success of the XL project that their role continues throughout the life of Project XL at Andersen. The CAC is guided by the Stakeholder Involvement Plan attached to the FPA. Stakeholder support has been built through 12 meetings of the CAC held from December 1997 through September 1998. CAC meetings initially covered detailed briefings on all aspects of the Andersen Project XL proposal. CAC involvement evolved into active questioning, comments, and participation by CAC members in FPA negotiations, and in the work groups established to address specific FPA issues. The individual members of the CAC represent the full spectrum of stakeholders affected by the Andersen Project XL program. Committee members and their affiliations are: Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxxx Washington County Commissioner Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Baytown Township Board Member Dr. Xxx Xxxxxxx University of Minnesota School of Public Health Baytown Township Resident Xxx Xxxxxxxx Stillwater Area Chamber of Commerce Xxxxxxx Xxxxx Baytown Township Resident Xxx Xxxxxx Bayport City Council Member Xxxxx Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Employee Xxx Xxx Xxx Bayport Resident Xxxxx Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Bayport Resident Employee Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy

Stakeholder Support. More people will be affected by a partnership than just the public officials and the private sector partner. Affected employees, the portions of the public receiving the service, the press, appropriate labor unions and relevant interest groups will all have opinions, and may have misconceptions about a partnership and its value to all the public. It is important to communicate openly and candidly with these stakeholders to minimize potential resistance to establishing a partnership.
Stakeholder Support. Proponents should seek the support of parties that have a stake in the environmental impacts of the project. Imation has sought the support of numerous parties with a stake in the project. Imation originally identified a Project XL Stakeholders Group that has commented on and expressed support for the project. In addition, Imation sought formal approval of the Imation Camarillo Project XL Covenant during a public hearing before the VCAPCD Board on November 12, 1996. During the course of that approval process, testimony was elicited from a wide spectrum of Ventura County community representatives.4 While most of the testimony was supportive, some adverse comments were voiced about particular aspects of the project, and a number of the adverse comments were resolved through modifications to the agreement. After considering all of the testimony, the VCAPCD Board approved the Covenant.5 Continued stakeholder support and involvement is being pursued in two key areas. First, Imation will establish a new Project Stakeholders Group to assist in evaluating the implementation of the project. This group will help ensure that the principal elements of the project, as described in this FPA, are being carried out in good faith. This group will also have an integral role in the annual project evaluations and the 5-year evaluation associated with potential project renewal. Another key stakeholder group, convened by the VCAPCD Board, is developing criteria to be used in deciding how to distribute (or whether to retire) the federally creditable ERCs donated by Imation. This ERC Advisory Committee is also comprised of individuals who have a stake in the project, although the Committee is distinct from the Project Stakeholders Group. (See section II.E for additional discussion of public participation)
Stakeholder Support. During Year 3 of LIFE2, MCDC and The Center at Xxxxxxxx will implement a K – 12 Survey to gather feedback. Grant managers will engage stakeholders in independent assessment of project quality to identify meaningful components across diverse stakeholder perspectives. Data will be aggregated to generate districtwide results and disaggregated by stakeholders (teachers, non-classroom instructional professionals, assistant principals, principals, central district administrators, etc.) to compare feedback across groups. Results will be shared with district administrators and will be used in the identification of sustainable services and practices suitable for replication in other settings. Survey results will help inform sustainability planning, Advisory Board Sustainability sub-Committee efforts and influence long-term Financial Plans designed to institutionalize impactful LIFE2 strategies worthy of continuation.
