Holiday Accrual. Compensatory time off in lieu of holidays earned after the effective date of this Agreement shall be recorded in a leave category to be known as Holiday Leave.
Holiday Accrual. 5 (A) 56-hour employees shall accrue sixteen (16) hours of holiday time per 6 holiday. 7 (B) 40-hour employees shall accrue five (5) hours of holiday time per 8 holiday, with the exception of Fire Prevention employees.
Holiday Accrual. An employee may carry over not more than twenty-four (24) hours of holiday time from one year to the next. Such holiday time carryover shall not be accumulative.
Holiday Accrual. Employees shall accrue time off for holidays, at the rate of 8.0 hours per month, for a total of ninety-six (96) hours. Holiday accrual shall accrue to the PTO leave bank and become part of the monthly accrual for PTO in accordance with Article 11, Section 11.1.

Non-sworn employees and Officers assigned as Detective and School Resource Officer shall take holiday time off on the date the holiday is observed unless otherwise authorized by the Chief. This practice shall end on December 31, 2022 and all employees will follow this article.

Holiday Accrual. Covered employees working other than eight (8) hour shifts will be prospectively awarded an accrual of forty-eight (48) hours of Holiday time on January 1, and fifty-six (56) hours of Holiday time on July 1 of each calendar year (based on eight (8) hours per Holiday that occur in the time period). This award is intended to provide flexibility to cover Holidays without creating the need to supplement time-off with additional benefit time.
Holiday Accrual. In exchange for the increased number of regular days off, the bargaining unit agrees to accrue 4.4 hours for each holiday as identified in Article 10.1 for a total annual accrual of forty-four (44) hours.
