Cancelled Leave. 24.1 Where an employee is recalled to duty while on approved annual leave (or equivalent), the employee will be re- credited with a period of annual leave equivalent to the standard hours of duty worked during the annual leave. Where an employee’s annual leave is cancelled without reasonable notice, or an employee is recalled to duty from annual leave, the employee will be entitled to be reimbursed reasonable travel costs and incidental expenses not otherwise recoverable from insurance or from any other sources, as determined by the CEO.

Cancelled Leave. Employees may be reimbursed for reasonable costs not otherwise recoverable from other sources incurred as a result of their leave being cancelled. If an employee is recalled to duty during annual leave the employee will be re-credited with a period equivalent to the ordinary hours worked during the annual leave and reimbursed for any reasonable costs, as determined by the Inspector-General, not otherwise recoverable from other sources incurred as a result of being recalled to duty. An employee who is eligible for personal/carer’s leave, community service leave or compassionate leave while on annual leave will have their leave re-credited on the provision of suitable documentary evidence. Christmas Close Down The OIGIS will close its normal operations from close of business on the last working day before Christmas, with business resuming on the first working day after New Year’s Day. Employees will be provided with time off for the working days between Christmas and New Year’s Day and will be paid in accordance with their ordinary hours of work. Where an employee is absent on leave, payment for the Christmas closedown provision will be in accordance with the entitlement for that form of leave, (e.g. if on long service leave half pay, payment is on half pay). There will be no deduction from annual or personal/carer’s leave credits for the closedown days. Any decision to re-open OIGIS during the Christmas/New Year period shall be wholly at the discretion of the Inspector-General. Employees may be reimbursed for reasonable costs not otherwise recoverable from other sources incurred as a result of being recalled to duty over the Christmas Close Down. An APS level employee who is required to work on any of those working days referred to in clause 20.1 above will receive an extra duty payment. An Executive Level employee will receive an equivalent period of time off in lieu.   • Extended Leave of Absence Professional employees who have attained renewable contract status may request extended leaves of absence for one (1) year without pay under any one of the circumstances listed in this section.
