Amount of Leave. An employee may be granted paid leave to attend defence forces reserves training programs or courses on the following basis: Service Annual Training School, class or course of instruction Navy 13 calendar days 13 calendar days Army 14 calendar days 14 calendar days Air Force 16 calendar days 16 calendar days
Amount of Leave. Eligible employees are entitled to a total of 12 workweeks of unpaid leave during any 12-month period. As of January 2008, FMLA was amended to include a special leave entitlement that permits eligible employees to take up to 26 weeks of unpaid leave to care for a covered servicemember during a single 12-month period. No more than 26 workweeks of leave may be taken within any single 12-month period.

Amount of Leave. Bereavement leave shall not exceed three (3) work days for the death of a member of the employee's immediate family. In addition, an employee shall be entitled to use two (2) days of sick leave as bereavement leave. Leave granted under this Section shall be taken at the time of the death or funeral and shall not be deducted from other leaves of absence or compensatory time off to which the employee may be entitled; except as provided immediately above.

A unit member’s entitlement to leave for the birth or placement of a child for adoption or xxxxxx care expires 12 months after the birth or placement. The 12-month period for calculating leave entitlement will be a “rolling period” measured backward from the date leave is taken and continues with each additional leave day taken. Thus, whenever a unit member requests leave, the District will look back over the previous 12-month period to determine how much leave has been used in determining the amount of leave a unit member is entitled to.
