Breaks. 40.1 One 10-minute paid morning rest break and one 30 minute unpaid lunch break will be scheduled within 6 hours after work starts.
40.2 Where an Employee is required to work more than two hours overtime after the usual ceasing time of the day or shift they shall be allowed a 20 minute rest break paid at ordinary time rates prior to commencing overtime. Employees who take payment in lieu of stopping work for this break will be regarded as having worked a further 20 minutes and shall be paid at overtime rates.
40.3 An Employee working overtime on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday shall be allowed a 30-minute combined Rest Period/Meal/Crib Break after four hours work, such time to be paid at double ordinary time rates, with a further 20 minute Crib break to be paid at double ordinary time rates if the overtime continues past 8 hours worked.
40.4 In the case of overtime work being cancelled by the Employer at the end of the 4-hour minimum or any time thereafter, Employees will, in addition to the payments as prescribed, be paid for the 30 minutes combined Crib/Meal/Rest Period if not already taken.
40.5 If work proceeds beyond the 4 hours minimum then Employees will be paid for all time so worked.
Breaks. Every employee working on video display equipment shall be required to take a break away from his/her screen of at least fifteen (15) minutes after two (2) hours' work. In the event that normal work schedule does not provide a lunch or rest break every two (2) hours, the employee shall be assigned duties away from the video display screen for fifteen (15) minutes after two (2) hours of work.
Breaks. 16.1 Two separate ten-minute tea breaks (in addition to meal breaks) shall be allowed each employee on duty during each ordinary shift of 7.6 hours or more; where less than 7.6 ordinary hours are worked employees shall be allowed one 10-minute tea break in each four-hour period. Subject to agreement between the employer and the employee, the two ten-minute tea breaks may alternatively be taken as one 20-minute tea break, or by one ten-minute tea break with the employee allowed to proceed off duty ten minutes before the completion of the normal shift finishing time. Such tea break(s) shall count as working time.
(a) Employees shall not be required to work more than six (6) hours without a meal break. Such meal break shall be of between 30 and 60 minutes duration and shall not count as time worked.
(b) However, employees engaged in community care duties may be rostered to have a paid 20-minute break in the place of the meal break where they are required to remain with the client during such break.
(c) In the event that all or some of the meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner are not provided for a live-in housekeeper, the employer shall reimburse such reasonable amounts for same, upon proof of expenditure.
16.3 Notwithstanding the provisions of sub-clause 16.2, an employee required to work shifts in excess of 10 hours shall be entitled to a 60-minute meal break. Such time shall be taken as either two thirty-minute meal breaks or one 60-minute meal break, subject to agreement between the employer and employee.
16.4 An employee who is required to work overtime for more than two hours and such overtime goes beyond 7:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. shall, at the option of the employer, be supplied with a meal or shall be paid, as the case may be:
(a) the amount for breakfast set out in Item 2 of Table 2 of Schedule B to this Agreement;
(b) the amount for lunch set out in Item 3 of Table 2 of Schedule B to this Agreement
(c) the amount for the evening meal set out in Item 4 of Table 2 of Schedule B to this Agreement.

Breaks. A paid rest period of not more than fifteen (15) minutes shall be granted to each employee for every four (4) hours of regularly scheduled work performed except during an unusual situation or emergency created beyond the control of the Employer. Such rest periods shall be a time detached from lunch periods, the beginning and end of shifts, and although scheduled at the discretion of the Employer, shall be taken near the midpoint of each half-shift when practicable. Additional paid rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes each for every four (4) hours of overtime worked shall be granted to employees.
Breaks. No reduction shall be made from the basic workday for rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes in every four (4) hours working time or major fraction thereof; such rest period to be taken insofar as practicable in the middle of such working time. Such rest periods are to be taken in such a manner that the normal delivery of services will not be interrupted.
Breaks. 14.1 Where an employee works at least five continuous (5) hours, the employee will be entitled to an unpaid meal break of between half and one hour as determined by the Employer.
14.2 Breaks will be taken at times as determined by the Employer, based on operational requirements.
Breaks. 8.1 Meal breaks and rest breaks
(a) An Employee, other than a continuous shiftworker, is entitled to an unpaid meal break of not less than 30 minutes.
(b) A continuous shiftworker will be entitled to a paid meal break of 20 minutes per shift.
(c) All Employees will be allowed a rest break of 10 minutes, between the time of commencing work and the usual meal break. This rest break will be counted as part of time worked.
(d) The timing of meal breaks and rest breaks on any particular job may be discussed between the Employer and the majority of Employees concerned at a particular site and varied by agreement. Occupational health and safety considerations will always prevail.
(e) An Employee shall not be compelled to work for more than six hours without a break for a meal. Where possible the normal meal break should be as near as practicable to the middle of the period of duty or shift in lieu thereof.
Breaks. A paid rest period of fifteen (15) minutes shall be granted to each employee for every four (4) hours of regularly scheduled work performed, except during an unusual situation or emergency created beyond the control of the Agency. At the request of the employee, the rest period(s) shall be scheduled with the meal period unless operational needs preclude combining rest period(s) and lunch. The combination of the rest period(s) and lunch shall not exceed one (1) hour in length, and shall not be used to shorten the work day. If the rest period(s) and lunch are not combined, such rest periods shall be a time detached from the beginning and end of shifts, and although reasonably scheduled by the Agency, shall be taken near the midpoint of each half-shift unless mutually agreed otherwise. Paid rest periods of ten (10) minutes each for every two (2) continuous hours of overtime worked shall be granted to employees.
Breaks. Each employee shall be entitled to take one (1) 15-minute break for each four (4) hours of work performed in a work day. If an employee fails to take a break to which he/she is entitled, the break is waived by the employee.
