ARTICLE STANDBY. (The following clause will appear in all agreements replacing any provision related to Standby that existed in the Hospital's expiring collective agreement:) An employee required to standby or remain available for call-back duty on other than regular scheduled hours shall be paid at the rate of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour of standby time. Where such standby falls on any of the designated holidays listed in the collective agreement, the employee shall be paid at the rate of three dollars ($3.00) per hour of standby time. Hours worked for call-back shall be deducted from hours for which the employee receives standby pay. However, an employee shall be entitled to a minimum of five dollars ($5.00) for each eight hour period on standby even if called back to work. ARTICLE STANDBY. An employee required to standby or remain available for duty on other than regular scheduled hours shall be paid at the rate of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour of standby time. Hours worked for shall be deducted from hours for which the employee receives standby pay. However, an employee shall be entitled to a minimum of five dollars ($5.00) for each eight hour period on standby even if called back to work. As far as possible, no employee shall be required to be on standby for two (2) or more succeeding weekends. Stand-by schedules are to be posted two (2) weeks in advance.

No payment shall be made when the employee is unable to work when required. ARTICLE STANDBY. For the purposes of this Article, standby duty shall be any period of twelve (12) consecutive hours, An employee designated for standby must be available in a manner approved by the Employer during this period of standby.

Further calls received during the hour of receiving the first telephone call back shall not be compensated. Any calls after this hour shall be treated as a new telephone call back. Travel time is not considered time worked for the purposes of this Article. The Employer will endeavour to provide for equitable distribution of standby duties among qualified employees in their respective groups provided that any valid claim of inequitable distribution shall be made up in kind. An employee shall not be eligible for standby pay after having been on sick leave with or without pay on last regularly scheduled shift unless and until first reports in for regular duty and completes next regularly scheduled shift. Article Shift Premium An employee working on shifts, of which half or more of the hours are regularly scheduled between and a.m., will receive a shift premium of per hour for all hours worked, including overtime. Shift premium will also be paid for regular work hours that commenced earlier than a.m. or extended beyond in which case employees working the shift would receive the greater of the premium for hours worked up to a.m. and for time worked after or a minimum of two (2) hours shift premium pay. The reference to leaving the Hospital premises referred to above will not be applicable where an employee remains in the Hospital on standby arrangement with the Hospital. (NOTE: Any other related to Call Back that existed in the expiring Collective Agreement xxxx be continued and numbered in sequence as provisions of this Article.)
