Length of Employment definition

Length of Employment means the period of time since an employee last became a full-time or part-time employee in a permanent or term position for purposes of calculating all entitlements pursuant to this Agreement including, but not limited to, vacation, bonus vacation and pre-retirement leave and “Length of Service” shall have a similar meaning. Conversion from full-time or part-time status to casual status shall be considered a break in service and no period of casual employment or prior full-time or part-time employment in a permanent or term position shall be included in an employee’s length of employment or length of service even when a casual employee subsequently becomes a full-time or part-time employee.

More Definitions of Length of Employment

Length of Employment means the length of uninterrupted service an employee has in a particular job classification. Job classification shall correspond with the job classification set forth on the salary schedule as published by the Board of Education.

Length of Employment. The Co-op Program is designed to provide students with work experience in the field of study. Co-op assignments can be alternating or parallel. Parallel (Part-time) co-op is generally defined as up to 30 hours per week for 16 weeks for US citizens and Permanent Residents, 20 hours or less per week for International Students. Alternating co-op (Full-time) is defined as 30+ hours per week for US citizens and Permanent Residents, 20+ hours per week for International Students. Alternating assignments, sometimes, are located away from campus, in another city or state. The Co-op office recognizes that business needs fluctuate and/or students sometimes prove to be unsatisfactory so that continued employment beyond a work period may not be possible. However, except in cases of extreme unsuitability, employers are expected to keep students for the full term of a given work period. Once students undertake a Co-op work assignment, there is no chance for them to adjust their class schedules.
Length of Employment for purposes of determining the Employee's Temporary Disability Benefits is defined as the period of his active and continuous service with ARH on the date he is first entitled to receive Temporary Disability Benefits for the illness or injury which prevents him from performing his work assignment.
