Employment definition

Employment means any occupation, vocation or employment, or any form of vocational or educational training. Provided, however, that "employment" shall not, for the purposes of this article, include membership in any law enforcement agency.

Examples of Employment in a sentence

  • Employee shall be entitled to a period of annual vacation time equal to four (4) weeks during each Employment Year, to accrue pro rata during the course of the Employment Term.

  • You understand that nothing in this Agreement limits your ability to file a charge or complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the New York State Department of Labor, the Securities and Exchange Commission or any other federal, state or local governmental agency or commission (“Government Agencies”).

  • Employee shall be eligible for vacation and sick leave in accordance with the policies of Employer in effect from time to time during the Employment Term.

  • In the event of a conflict between the terms of this Agreement and the Employment Agreement, the terms of this Agreement will control.

  • Nothing in this Retention Agreement is intended to alter your at-will employment relationship, and except as otherwise modified herein with respect to your Base Salary, Target Percentage, bonus eligibility and severance eligibility, all other provisions of the Employment Agreement and your Employee Confidential Information, Invention Assignment, Non-Solicitation and Non-Competition Agreement (the “Covenants Agreement”) remain in full force and effect.


More Definitions of Employment

Employment means the Executive’s employment under this Agreement;
Employment means employment as an employed person and the words “employ”, “employed” or “employer” shall be construed accordingly;
Employment means the Grantee’s performance of services for the Firm, as determined by the Committee. The terms “employ” and “employed” shall have their correlative meanings. The Committee in its sole discretion may determine (i) whether and when a Grantee’s leave of absence results in a termination of Employment (for this purpose, unless the Committee determines otherwise, a Grantee shall be treated as terminating Employment with the Firm upon the occurrence of an Extended Absence), (ii) whether and when a change in a Grantee’s association with the Firm results in a termination of Employment and (iii) the impact, if any, of any such leave of absence or change in association on Awards theretofore made. Unless expressly provided otherwise, any references in the Plan or any Award Agreement to a Grantee’s Employment being terminated shall include both voluntary and involuntary terminations.
Employment means employment with the Corporation or any of its Subsidiaries. For purposes of this Award Agreement, Employment shall also include any period of time during which the Participant is on Disability status.
Employment means employment with the Company or any of its subsidiaries or Affiliates including but not limited to MPC and its subsidiaries and Affiliates. For purposes of this Award Agreement, Employment shall also include any period of time during which the Participant is on Disability status. The length of any period of Employment shall be determined by the Company or the subsidiary or Affiliate that either (i) employs the Participant or (ii) employed the Participant immediately prior to the Participant’s termination of Employment.
