School District Protection. Device Protection Plan is available for students and parents to cover the device’s replacement in the event of accidental damage. The protection cost is $20.00, PER SCHOOL YEAR, for each device and will only cover one repair. A second plan may be purchased if a device is damaged and coverage is used. Only two protection plans are available per student, per school year. After two plans have been used, all further repairs within the current school year are charged to parents. This Technology Device Protection Plan Agreement, which is signed each year by the parent/guardian and student, will be kept on file with the homeroom teacher or Technology Department. This signed form must be accompanied by the $20 protection plan fee. A copy will be given to the parent/guardian upon request.

School District Protection. INSURANCE FOR THEFT, LOSS, OR FIRE: Devices that are stolen, lost, or damaged by fire are not covered by the warranty or the accidental damage protection outlined previously. The Xxxxxx School District carries insurance for devices that are stolen, lost, or damaged by fire. The user is responsible for the $250 deductible for these perils. Intentional damage is likely to not be covered by any insurance protection. Please consult with your insurance agent for details about your personal coverage of the device computer.
School District Protection. The District provides a Device Protection Plan (DPP) for students and parents to cover device replacement. The DPP coverage for the school year costs $35 per device. No family will be charged more than $105 (cost of coverage for three (3) students). Those families requiring financial assistance may contact their child’s school office. Policies purchased mid-year will not be prorated and will follow the same pricing structure. The plan includes the first repair of any part of the device, up to three separate repairs, as long as the damage is not due to the negligence of the user or malicious behavior. Devices in need of repair that were not kept in the protective case provided by the District will be charged a $20 copay for each instance of repair.

The District will provide students instructions regarding the procedures for handling requested repairs on each campus. District technology staff will provide repair and replacement services and will notify the student when the Chromebook is again available for use. The replacement cost must be provided before an additional device is checked out to your student. If parents/guardians waive the Technology Device Protection Plan, parents/guardians accept full responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to the device and accessories while issued to their student. In the event the device is returned damaged, all costs and fees related to the collection of the cost of repair (including legal counsel, postage, process server, filing fee, court costs, etc.) will be the parent’s responsibility. I agree to purchase the Technology Device Protection Plan and follow the conditions as outlined above. $20 cash or a check made out to “DASD” is attached.
