Foot Protection. The Employer reserves the right to require the wearing of foot protection by employees. In such cases, the Employer will provide a safety device or, if the Employer requires the employee to purchase approved safety shoes, the Employer will pay an allowance, not to exceed the established contract price approved by the State Purchasing Division, during January of each year.

Foot Protection. Steel-toe shoes or boots in good condition and appropriate to the work and hazards being performed shall be worn in work areas designated by CCI facility management.

Each employing department that provides vouchers for the purchase of safety footwear is to evaluate the employee need and, if any of the above criteria is met, a department must either furnish a voucher for the purchase of the appropriate footwear or, if the department does not provide vouchers, it must provide additional non-pensionable compensation for reimbursement for purchasing department-required safety footwear. Payment for reimbursement of employee-purchased safety footwear shall not exceed one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00), including tax, per calendar year, and shall be paid during the month of February in 2016, 2017 & 2018 during the term of this MOU, unless a different annual scheduled is agreed to by both the Union and the CAO. Departments that provide vouchers are to make them available for distribution according to the same schedule as the above-purchase reimbursement payments, but no more than annually. Employees who purchase a pair of safety shoes over one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) may do so and pay the extra cost out of their own pocket.
Foot Protection. Leather work boots are required to be worn at all times. “Safety shoes” are not an acceptable substitute for leather work boots. Approved steel toe or safety toe boots and metatarsal guards are required when using a jackhammer. Concrete work requires use of impermeable, chemical resistant boots. Special conditions at some sites may call for the use of static guard straps or conductive boots. Electrical work may call for insulating boots. Hand Protection Appropriate gloves are required during certain work activities and shall provide protection from the potential hazard. Respiratory Protection The means of respiratory protection to be used for a particular job/task will be carefully considered and determined by a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and approved by the Hy-Vee Construction project team. All requirements of the Hy-Vee Construction Respiratory Protection Program are to be followed. • Prior to wearing a respirator all workers are required to complete a health assessment, training, and a Respiratory Fit Test Record. • Subcontractors are to provide a copy of their respirator program documentation to the Hy-Vee Construction project team. • Contact the Safety Committee if Hy-Vee Construction employees will be required to wear respirators. • Workers who utilize respirators voluntarily are to complete the Voluntary Respirator Use Form. Clothing Full length pants and shirts that cover the shoulder and have a 4 inch sleeve are required. Shorts, cut-off pants, tank tops, or shirts with the sleeves cut off above the shoulder are not permitted. Some environments or work activities may call for long sleeve shirts. No dangling or loose clothing or jewelry shall be worn around moving machinery.

Foot Protection. All personnel on the construction site shall wear leather hard-soled work boots. No one is permitted to wear sneakers (including ANSI approved), tennis shoes or athletic shoes of any type, sandals, high heels or thongs on the construction site. Clothing Suitable clothing for construction shall be worn on the construction site. Shirts with sleeves (at least t-shirt (4 inches) in length), full length pants and reflective safety vests shall be required. Shorts, sweat pants or tank-tops are not allowed.

Foot Protection. All employees are required to wear toe protection equipment. We have made arrangements to have a shoemobile visit the plant on a regular basis. The date and hours of their visits will be posted. To assist in the purchase of safety shoes a payroll deduction plan has been established. Experience has proven that by wearing safety shoes, many serious accidents have been and can be prevented.
