Professional Conferences. Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.
Professional Conferences. Upon the discretion and approval of the Superintendent or designee, teachers shall be allowed to attend professional conferences and pre-approved expenses for food, lodging, and travel will be reimbursed. Itemized paid receipts for all expenses claimed shall be turned into the administration before reimbursement is approved.
Professional Conferences. The Board agrees to provide, upon written application by the employee and written approval by the Superintendent, the appropriate expenses for employees who desire to attend professional conferences. Travel, meals, lodging and registration fees shall be deemed appropriate expenses as well as cost of the substitute teacher needed to relieve the participant.

In the belief that attendance at professional meetings is desirable to maintain and improve professional competence and proficiency, and to enhance the educational program of the school district, teachers shall be encouraged to participate in such meetings. 2. A budget in each building for professional conferences shall be established. The Association shall have the right to request budget information concerning conference expenses.
Professional Conferences. Unit members may be given released time to attend professional conferences when it is deemed by the district that such attendance would be mutually advantageous to the District and the member.
Professional Conferences. The district shall make provisions in the instructional budget of the district for those teachers in the district to attend national and regional professional meetings in accordance with a policy developed by the district and with prior approval of the superintendent of schools. Professional Conferences. The District shall grant reimbursement to employees for professional conferences, seminars or workshops when classes taken are part of a PGP or are suggested as a part of an employee evaluation. The District may grant leave to employees for the purpose of attending professional meetings or conferences that are of value to the employee’s professional performance. Such leave will be granted with or without pay and with or without travel reimbursement, provided such determination is made on a fair and equitable basis to all employees. A Conference/Workshop Request, shall be submitted to the District for prior approval.

Officially authorized Association delegates and/or alternates, as required, shall be granted time necessary with pay, to attend NYSUT, NYSUT Election District, Retirement, and AFT conventions, upon timely request to the Superintendent. All expenses shall be borne by the individual or the Association. Representatives of the Association, in addition to delegates and alternates, may also be excused by the Superintendent, or his/her designee, to perform official Association functions. 2. Excused absences, with pay, may be granted to any employee to attend professional meetings, conferences and workshops, when approved by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
Professional Conferences. A. The Committee agrees to pay reasonable expenses incurred by teachers who attend workshops, seminars, conferences or other professional improvement sessions at the request of or with the advance approval of the Principal and Superintendent. When completing the conference/workshop request form, the teacher will include how he/she intends to utilize and share the information learned at the conference. B. If a professional improvement session is required and occurs on a non-school day, the teacher will be granted one (1) personal day, not deducted from sick, to be used within that contract year for each conference day. C. Professional visitation days with pay for the purpose of visiting other schools or attending meetings that have a direct bearing upon improving the teacher's effectiveness in the classroom may be granted at the discretion of the principal. This will not be deducted from regular sick leave.
