Conferences and Workshops. The parties to this Agreement recognize that attendance at conferences, workshops and other gatherings of a similar nature are beneficial to the Employee's work-related activities and that attendance and participation in such gatherings generally serve to enhance the performance and professional development of the Employee. An Employee will be given as much notice as is practicable of approval or denial of a request for attendance at such gatherings.
Conferences and Workshops. The parties to this Agreement recognize that attendance at scientific conferences, workshops and other gatherings of a similar nature constitutes an integral part of the employee’s research activities and that attendance and participation in such gatherings is recognized as an element in the conduct of scientific research and development and in the performance of the duties of the Medical Physicist. An Employee will be given as much notice as is practicable of approval or denial of a request for attendance at such gatherings.

Conferences and Workshops. 12.01 The parties to this Agreement recognize that attendance at scientific or industry focused conferences, workshops and other gatherings of a similar nature constitutes an integral part of the employee’s work related activities and that attendance and participation in such gatherings is recognized as an element in the conduct of scientific research, contribution to technology, and industry support. Where an employee intends to request overtime compensation for attendance at a conference, workshop or other gathering of a similar nature, the employee shall request such overtime compensation when requesting approval to attend the conference, workshop or other gathering. An employee will be given as much notice as is practicable of approval or disapproval of a request for attendance at such gatherings.
Conferences and Workshops. A teacher who has been authorized under policies established by the Board or Superintendent to attend conferences or workshops shall be granted Nondeductible Leave.

All information received by the Hospital or brought up by Employees regarding workshops, seminars, professional annual general meetings and conferences will be posted when received. Where the Hospital is able to provide some funding to support staff to attend such event the selection process will be outlined to staff.
Conferences and Workshops. It is the intent of the City to provide employees the opportunity to attend conferences and workshops to enhance their ability to perform their work. The City will pay expenses as provided by the City travel policy and as budgeted.

All clerical and teacher aide employees qualifying for benefits may be excused to attend conferences and/or workshops without loss in compensation or charge to sick leave, provided that the building principal or supervisor and Superintendent of Schools approve such absence in accordance with the District travel, conference and workshop regulations. Conference and workshop time is noncumulative.
