Professional Meetings. Employees should be encouraged to and may, with the approval of the supervisor, attend professional meetings, conferences, and activities. Subject to the availability of funds, the employee's expenses in connection with such meetings, conferences, or activities shall be reimbursed in accordance with the applicable provisions of State law and university rules.
Professional Meetings. To the extent consistent with the operational needs of the Employer, employees will be granted time off with pay, not to exceed their normal workday to attend pre-approved professional meetings that are job related.

Request should be in writing and directed to the appropriate Director for approval with a copy of said request provided to the school administration when applicable.

However, conferences held more than 300 miles from the District, or more than three (3) days in duration, shall be attended only after the Board has been notified of and approved same.

The Board may pay transportation and expenses. Prior approval to attend a meeting is required. The opportunity for attendance at meetings should be distributed as equally as possible by the administration.
Professional Meetings. Employees with technical or specialized skills and who exercise independent judgment in their jobs may request leave with pay to attend work-related professional meetings. Such leave may be granted by the Employer if the meetings would contribute to and not disrupt Employer operations.
