POSITIONS AND VACANCIES. Section 6.1 The filling of all employee positions with the exception of the Chief Deputy Clerks in the office of the County Clerk, Supervisor of Assessments and Treasurer and the Secretary in the office of the State’s Attorney, shall be made by department heads as set forth in this Agreement based on seniority, ability and qualifications. If ability and qualifications are equal, seniority shall prevail.

Where an employee wishes to apply for a position which is expected to become vacant while the employee is on authorized leave of absence or on vacation, application for such position may be made before commencing such leave or vacation. If the position is posted prior to the return of the employee, such application shall be considered in the absence of the employee. An employee who is selected for the position must be available for employment in that position not later than one (Im)onth following the date of selection.   • VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS 17.01 The Gallery shall post notice of permanent and temporary job vacancies subject to Article 4 – Temporary Full-Time Employees for a period of seven (7) calendar days before any such job is filled. Probationary employees shall not be entitled to apply for posted vacancies.
