Duties of the Superintendent. Nothing in Article E.24 shall preclude the Superintendent or designate from carrying out his/her duties pursuant to the School Act and Regulations.
Duties of the Superintendent. The parties agree that the duties of the position of Superintendent to be performed pursuant to this Contract are set forth in the Franklin Township School Board Policy Handbook, as amended. The parties agree that the description of the duties as Superintendent as stated in the Board Policy Handbook, as amended, represent a reasonable division of responsibilities between the policy making responsibility of the Board, and the implementation and management responsibilities of the Superintendent. The Superintendent agrees that the Superintendent’s duties pursuant to this Contract represent full employment and the Superintendent will not accept outside employment, perform work as an independent contractor, or engage in any other business pursuit involving the Superintendent’s personal services, if any of these activities interfere with the Superintendent’s performance of the Superintendent’s duties as Superintendent, except only as provided in Section 2 above. The parties of this Contract further agree that the duties performed by this Superintendent pursuant to this Contract are unique to this position in the School Corporation, and the Superintendent will therefore not be transferred or reassigned by the Board to another position without the Superintendent’s written consent unless the Superintendent is on leave, incapacitated or otherwise unable to fulfil the duties of Superintendent as determined by the Board. The Superintendent agrees that at all times while the Superintendent is employed pursuant to this Contract the Superintendent will fully meet the minimum qualifications for the position of Superintendent which include maintaining a license from the State of Indiana required for the position of Superintendent.
Duties of the Superintendent. A. The Superintendent is the chief executive officer of the ASD and is responsible for the efficient and effective direction and administration of the ASD in conformance with all applicable statutes, ordinances, regulations, Board policies, memos passed by a majority by the Board, and any other Board action approved by a majority of Board Members. The Superintendent is responsible for the organization or reorganization of ASD administrative and supervisory staff. Consistent with state law and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, the Superintendent shall recommend to the Board for approval all administrative and supervisory staff hiring, transfers, and promotions.

The review of the Superintendent’s job performance provided for in Paragraph 3 of this Contract shall be based upon the duties in the job description, which job description may be amended from time to time by the Board. The Superintendent shall be responsible to, and shall be subject to, the direct supervision and evaluation of the Board. The Superintendent is also responsible for complying with all directives of the Board which are authorized by official Board action. Unless otherwise approved by the Board, the Superintendent agrees that her duties pursuant to this Contract represent full time employment and she will not accept outside employment, perform work as an independent contractor, or engage in any other business pursuit involving her personal services if any of these activities interfere with the performance of her duties as Superintendent. The Superintendent agrees that at all times while she is employed pursuant to this Contract she will fully meet the minimum qualifications for the position of Superintendent and will maintain a Superintendent license from the State of Indiana.
Duties of the Superintendent. Xx. Xxxxxxxx agrees to accept employment as the Superintendent of Norfolk Public Schools and to carry out the duties of the Superintendent. The Superintendent shall serve as the Chief Education and Chief Executive Officer of Norfolk Public Schools (“NPS” or the “District”) in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia (including but not limited to Va. Code §§22.1-58, et seq.), the regulations adopted by the State Board of Education, and the lawful directives of the School Board of the City of Norfolk. The Superintendent will devote her time, skill, labor, and attention to her duties as the Superintendent. The duties of the Superintendent include the responsibility to organize, reorganize, and arrange the teachers, administrative and supervisory staffs, and other employees so that they best serve the NPS. This includes the authority to reorganize the central administration staff. Further, the administration of instruction and all business affairs shall be lodged with the Superintendent and administered by her with the assistance of the administrative staff. The responsibility for the selection, placement, and transfer of all personnel, subject to School Board approval, shall be vested in the Superintendent, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The School Board shall not reassign the Superintendent’s duties to other employees in the District without the consent of the Superintendent.

The Superintendent agrees that at all times while he/she is employed pursuant to this Contract he/she will fully meet the minimum qualifications for the position of Superintendent and will maintain a Superintendent license from the State of Indiana. Should said license be revoked or become invalid, the Contract shall automatically be terminated without further notice or hearing. The Superintendent shall serve as the Chief Administrator of JCSC. The Superintendent shall operate and manage JCSC in accordance with the policies of the Board and all applicable federal, state and local laws and ordinances. Superintendent shall perform his/her duties in a competent and professional manner. Superintendent or his/her designee, acceptable to the Board, shall attend all meetings of the Board. The duties of the Superintendent shall include, but not be limited to, • supervising all employees of JCSC; • making recommendation to the Board as to the selection, assignment, promotion, discipline, retention, reduction in force, non-renewal, or terminations of all personnel of JCSC, subject to final approval of the Board; • insuring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations concerning education and Board policy; • performing all duties normally assigned to the Superintendent of a public school system; and • performing all other duties reasonably assigned to a Superintendent of the Board.
