Definition of a Layoff. (a) Lay off shall be deemed to be a cessation of employment or a reduction in hours of work where such reduction eliminates or reduces an employee's coverage under health benefits.
Definition of a Layoff. The parties recognize that a layoff shall be defined as a reduction in hours greater than ten percent (10%) of an employee’s regularly scheduled hours per pay period and provided such reduction is greater than seven and one-half (7½) hours per pay period.

During the period of notice, employees shall be granted reasonable time off with pay for employment interviews. The Employer will make all reasonable efforts to place the employees in other positions with the Employer.
