Conditions for Reappointment. The term of this Agreement shall be the Duration of Appointment indicated in Section I above, subject to the termination provisions hereof. The Resident/Fellow acknowledges and agrees that there is no guarantee of a position as a resident/ fellow for any subsequent years of education and training regardless of the total length of the Program to which the Resident/Fellow was appointed. Any reappointment of the Resident/Fellow will be based on satisfactory performance evaluations completed at least semi-annually by the Program Director or his/her designee. Reappointment is not guaranteed. If a decision is made not to promote a written notice of this intent will be provided to the Resident/Fellow by the Program Director in accordance with UMMC’s Institutional Commitment Policy for Graduate Medical Education (Policy # GMS-B). If a decision is made not to renew the Agreement, a written notice of intent not to renew a Resident’s/Fellow’s contract will be provided by the Program Director in accordance with UMMC’s Institutional Commitment Policy for Graduate Medical Education (Policy # GMS-B). If the Resident/Fellow decides not to seek renewal of this Agreement for a subsequent year of residency, Resident/Fellow shall make every effort to provide the Program Director written notice of such decision no less than one hundred and twenty days (120) prior to the expiration of this Agreement.

Conditions for Reappointment. The renewal of a Resident Physician agreement does not guarantee promotion or advancement to the next residency year. Such advancement decisions are made by the Program Director and approved by the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) after the Resident Physician satisfactorily completes each academic year in compliance with MAHEC's policies and procedures for Renewal of Resident Physician Contract/Letter of Agreement, Evaluation of Resident Physicians, and Promotion of Resident Physicians, which are contained in the Manual for Residents and Fellows. The Resident Physician must have a current license from the North Carolina Medical Board (NCMB) to be considered for renewal of the agreement.
Conditions for Reappointment. Appointment to an additional year of the GME Program, if any, is accomplished by affirmative recommendation from the specific residency Program Director and concurrence of the Graduate Medical Education Committee (hereinafter "GMEC"). It is the Resident's responsibility to clarify with the Program Director whether the GME Program intends to offer an appointment to Resident for any additional year(s) of Graduate Medical Education training.
Conditions for Reappointment. Decisions on Reappointment shall at all times remain within the sole discretion of the Program Director and the Departmental Chairperson. Conditions for Reappointment. The duration of this Agreement is for a period of twelve (12) months. Reappointment and/or promotion to the next level of training is at the sole discretion of the Program Director and is expressly contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the following: satisfactory completion of all training components, the availability of a position, satisfactory performance evaluations, full compliance with the terms of this Agreement, the continuation of Hospital’s and Program’s accreditation by the ACGME, Xxxxxxx’x financial ability, and furtherance of Xxxxxxx’x objectives. Neither this Agreement nor the Resident’s appointment hereunder constitute an option to renew or extend the Resident’s appointment by Xxxxxxx or a benefit, promise, or other commitment that the Resident will be appointed to the Staff for a period beyond the termination date of this Agreement. In the event Xxxxxxx elects not to reappoint the Resident to the Program and this Agreement is not renewed, Xxxxxxx will attempt to provide the Resident with one hundred twenty days’ advance written notice of its determination of non-reappointment. Xxxxxxx is under no obligation, nor may it be held liable for breach of this Agreement if it fails to provide such advance notice. When non-reappointment is based on reasons other than the resident’s performance or his or her compliance with the terms of this Agreement, such non-reappointment when made by the Program Director shall be final and not subject to further appeal or review and shall not be grievable under Xxxxxxx’x grievance procedure. In the event the resident’s performance, at any time, is judged by the Program Director to be unsatisfactory or non-compliant with the terms of this Agreement, the Program Director shall notify the resident in writing of the nature of the unsatisfactory or non- compliant conduct or performance and engage in the steps described in Standards and Expectations for Performance and Fair Procedures for Corrective Action. The Resident’s failure to comply with remediation plans or the continuation of actions, conduct, and /or performance by the resident that are deemed unsatisfactory or non- compliant by Xxxxxxx shall be grounds for non-reappointment and/or disciplinary and corrective action.

Conditions for Reappointment and Promotion to a Subsequent PGY Level Stipend level will increase annually based on continuation in the program and advancement to subsequent PGY levels. Continuation in the program and advancement to subsequent PGY level is dependent upon satisfactory performance of assigned duties, meeting educational and performance-related milestones, and satisfactory evaluations by the program director and faculty. 5.
Conditions for Reappointment. Reappointment and advancement are based on evidence of satisfactory progressive scholarship and professional growth including demonstrated ability to assume graded and increasing responsibility for patient care. The determination is the responsibility of the Director, Residency Program. In instances where a resident’s agreement is not going to be renewed, or when a resident will not be promoted to the next level of training, Hospital will provide the resident with a written notice of intent 4 months prior to the end of the residents’ current agreement. However, if the primary reason for the non- renewal or non-promotion occurs within the four months prior to the end of the Agreement, Hospital will provide residents with as much written notice of the intent not to renew or not to promote as the circumstances will reasonably allow prior to the end of the agreement. The parties acknowledge that, in certain circumstances, notice of nonrenewal or non- promotion may not be given until June 30. The resident may use the procedures set forth in Hospital’s Resident Due Process policy procedures, if they have received a written notice of intent not to renew their agreement or of intent to renew their agreement but not to promote them to the next level of training. Residents must demonstrate satisfactory completion of USMLE II or COMLEX II in order to advance to the second year of residency training. Residents must successfully pass USMLE III or COMLEX III and demonstrate satisfactory performance in order to advance to the third year of residency training.
