Twelve-Month Secretaries. The in-school workday for twelve-month secretaries shall not exceed seven and one- half (7 1/2) hours inclusive of a sixty-minute duty-free lunch period. Summer work hours (9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or such other six and one-half hour per work day schedule as shall be approved by the supervising administrator) inclusive of a sixty minute duty-free lunch period shall commence no later than seven (7) work days after the last day for students in June and shall end August 31st.

Twelve-Month Secretaries. Vacation time shall be taken subject to the approval of the secretary's immediate supervisor and the Superintendent of Schools. A maximum of five (5) vacation days may be carried over and used by August 31 of the succeeding year. Other than that, vacations are not cumulative and for school based secretaries should be completed during the months of July, August and school vacations. However, in the event an employee requests up to two (2) vacation days and is granted approval to take vacation during time other than July, August and school vacations, no additional expense will be borne by the Board as a result of such vacation scheduling.

Upon the completion of the probationary period, each secretary so situate shall receive an additional one (1) week of vacation for a total of three (3) weeks. One (1) additional day of vacation shall be added thereafter for each subsequent and successive year of employment until the eighth year when each secretary so situated shall receive one (1) additional week for a total of four (4) weeks. All vacation time shall be taken during the summer vacation period when schools are closed. Exceptions may be made by advance notice to and approval of the Superintendent of Schools. Unused vacation for any year shall be paid at the per diem rate for the year earned. However, carry-over vacation time shall be limited to two (2) weeks. All vacations are subject to the approval of the Superintendent of Schools as outlined in A and will be adjusted to the work requirements of the school district.
