Starting Wages. New employees hired on or after January 1, 2019, will start at the minimum salary for the classification grade in Exhibit 1. In the case of difficult to fill positions, applicants with related previous experience may be allowed a starting pay of not more than four (4) percent of beginning base pay (no higher than Step 3 on current wage matrix).
Starting Wages. ‌ Starting hourly rates for each classification and job title are set forth in Appendix A of this Agreement. New job titles and job descriptions shall be brought to the attention of the Union President so that the Board and Union can negotiate an appropriate classification and starting wage. Employees who are involuntarily placed in a new position during the school year due to a reduction-in-force or involuntary transfer shall be paid for the remainder of the fiscal year and the next fiscal year their current hourly rate or the starting hourly rate for the new position, whichever is higher. If the involuntary transfer begins July 1, the employee will be red-circled for one fiscal year. At the end of the red-circle period, the employee shall be paid the starting hourly salary rate for the position plus appropriate district years of experience.

Starting Wages. All new hires shall be placed at Step 1 or the Start Rate (whichever is applicable) on hiring with the following exception. Where, in the opinion of Management, a person has prior direct comparable experience, Management may assign a higher Step provided no existing union employee will be at a lower step. If necessary, Management can move a union employee up one or more steps in the schedule in order to accommodate such placement for the new employee.
