Notwithstanding Article 12, in the rare circumstances where a Superintendent deems, upon the recommendation of a team of student services professionals, that a delicate relationship between a special needs child entering kindergarten and his/her pre-kindergarten attendant is consequential to the well-being of the child, no vacancy shall be deemed to exist for the purposes of Article 12, and the Employer may assign the child’s pre-kindergarten attendant to the relevant school-based position. The Employer agrees to meet with the Sub-Local President two (2) weeks prior to the assignment of a pre-kindergarten attendant to a school-based position to inform her of the rationale for such delicate relationship. The delicate relationship will be reviewed yearly by a team of student services professionals. Upon her assignment to the school-based position, the child’s pre-kindergarten attendant shall become a member of the bargaining unit, and a delicate relationship in accordance with Article 13.09 shall be deemed to exist. The assignment of a pre-kindergarten attendant to a position in a school will not result in a lay-off in that school for the duration of the delicate relationship. Permanent Educational Assistants. 15.01 - Eligibility The cumulative sick leave plan shall apply to all Permanent Educational Assistant staff who are employees of the Halton District School Board.

Related to Permanent Educational Assistants

  • Educational Assistants Teachers are responsible to assign instructional duties to Educational Assistants who are allocated to students in their classroom by the Principal.

  • Educational Assistance To qualify for reimbursement, an employee must be a regular employee upon enrollment. To be approved, the courses described below must be related to the employee's present position or career development:

  • Educational Assistance Plan The state shall provide up to six credit hours of tuition-free courses per term at a state university or community college to full-time employees on a space available basis as authorized by law.

  • EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM The District’s Educational Assistance Program will be continued during the life of this Agreement. Employees who wish to enroll in job-related and promotion oriented courses, which will improve their job knowledge, and performance will be compensated by the District for expenses as follows:

  • Adult Education Teachers of Adult Education shall be paid at the rate of thirty-five ($35.00) an hour. Break time will not be deducted from teachers’ pay.

  • Teaching Assistants 1. All Teaching Assistants shall receive the same remuneration per base unit and the difference between the amount paid a Graduate Teaching Assistant and other Teaching Assistants is an associated scholarship. See XIII D. for appropriate compensation.

  • Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.

  • EDUCATION ASSISTANTS 1. All Education Assistants employed by the Board to assist teachers in carrying out their responsibilities and duties under the School Act and Regulations shall be assigned to classes and/or students by the Principal and shall be assigned specific duties by the teacher during the designated periods of time.

  • Unpaid Educational Leave After one (1) year of continuous employment, permission shall be granted for leave of absence for a maximum of one (1) year without pay for study, without loss of accrued benefits.

  • Training and Education SECTION 1 – Law Enforcement Supervisors’ Training The state and the PBA recognize the importance of supervisor training programs to develop management skills in our law enforcement supervisors. The state will make a reasonable effort to continue existing training programs in law enforcement techniques and to develop new programs in performance review techniques, supervisory skills, and managerial techniques.
