Mechanics Tools. The Board of Education recognizes that the district mechanics incur expenditures to maintain and purchase tools. It is agreed that a committee will be established with representation from the Transportation Department and the mechanics to determine the purchase of specialty tools on an annual basis. Specialty tools are defined as items that are: • Used on a limited basis. • Usually more costly than standard tools. The committee will recommend the number and type of tools to be purchased. Final approval of all purchases will be made by the Director of Transportation Services.

Mechanics Tools. Mechanics and helpers who break or damage tools in the performance of their jobs will have such tools replaced by the Board with tools of like or equal value.
Mechanics Tools. A. Mechanics will purchase existing tools and tool boxes from the Township. All new mechanics shall provide their own tools and lockable tool boxes. Township will furnish only tools over 1 - 1/2 inch size on a sign-out basis.
Mechanics Tools. Mechanics are required to provide their own tools and leave them full time on District property; the District shall replace any tools stolen or deemed unserviceable in the line of duty. Mechanics shall be provided master tool lists for check-off and periodic updating. Such lists are to be held by the transportation supervisor with a copy to the mechanic. In order to receive compensation, the mechanic must either surrender the unserviceable tool(s) or submit a police report on the stolen tool(s).
Mechanics Tools. The City will provide an annual tool allowance of $800 to regular, full-time incumbents of Vehicle Services Assistant, Automotive/Equipment Technician, Lead Equipment Technician and Heavy Equipment Technician position classes in the Motor Pool. Payment of $800 shall be made in January of each year. The City shall honor employee claims in cases of theft or destruction of an entire tool box containing tools required by the City for the job and not involving negligence on the part of the employee. When an employee is hired s/he will be given the full annual tool allowance amount as provided for in this M.O.U. At the next payment date, the employee will receive a prorated allowance amount. The amount will be based on a percentage of the year the incumbent is employed from hire date to tool allowance payment date. The calculated percentage will be applied to the full payment amount to determine the allowance. In subsequent years the full payment amount will be paid on the regular payment dates. Example: Employee hired 06/01/05- regular payment date 01/01/06. • Paid at hire - Full payment amount • Paid at next regular payment date - 58.3% ( based on 7 months) • Paid subsequent years - Full payment amount Calculation of prorated payment allowance: Number of months in position X Current allowance = Prorated $ 12 months
