Landfill employees. Covered employees, whether they work on a county holiday (as defined by the County Code) or not, will receive eight (8) hours compensation, in the form of eight (8) hours comp time, if they are not normally scheduled to work on the holiday, and in the form of eight (8) hours of regular compensation if they are normally scheduled to work on the holiday (in which case they may need to contribute one (1) hour comp time to maintain a forty (40) hour work week). In addition to the above, if a covered employee works on a county holiday, then they will receive 1.5 times their normal rate of pay for each hour worked, up to eight (8) hours per day. The hours of work shall be from 7:30-4:00, with a standard ½ hour lunch break. After all hauler loads have been delivered for the day and all necessary service provided, covered employees working on a county holiday may leave early, at their discretion, at any time after 12 noon.

Landfill employees. Covered employees are required to who work 9/80 schedules at the County’s solid waste landfills shall no longer receive CTO or any other form of paid time off whenever they are required to work during a County holiday (as defined by the County Code). Instead, they shall receive “holiday pay” in the amount of six percent (6%) of their base compensation, payable semi-annually in June and December on the same terms and conditions applicable to other County employees who receive holiday pay. Such employees shall also continue to receive the same number of personal holidays each year as other MCPE members and any County holidays on which the landfill is closed. For any such holidays, landfill employees shall be credited with eight (8) hours of paid time under the same terms and conditions applicable to other 9/80 employees, as discussed below under Section D. (Note: the County has the management right to change the days and hours of operation for the County’s landfills and to change covered employees’ work schedules so that they no longer work on county holidays; in that event, those employees will no longer receive holiday pay pursuant to this Section B.) C. 4/10 employees. MCPE employees who are permitted by the County (in its sole discretion) to work 4/10 schedules shall work a regular 5/8 schedule during any week in which one or more County holidays occurs, and shall receive the same paid day(s) off that week as the other MCPE employees on such a regular schedule.

The regular workday during all other periods will normally be Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, five (5) hours per day between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., for a normal regular work week of twenty (20) paid hours.

  • Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime.   • Project Employees Project employees who have not held permanent civil service status within the job classification, will not volunteer for or be assigned overtime work outside of the project. Required overtime within a project may first be assigned to qualified employees within the project by seniority. The process for assigning the overtime will follow the procedures outlined in this Article.

  • Excluded Employees Employees excluded from the bargaining unit who work for an Employer signatory to this Agreement may participate in any of the foregoing benefits under rules and regulations established by the Trustees. The trustees shall determine the contributions required for such benefits.

  • Day Employees If a day employee is scheduled to work more than nine and one-half (9 ½) continuous hours, the Company will provide a meal if requested. A second meal, if requested, will be provided if the employee works more than thirteen and one- half (13 ½) continuous hours. A lunch period of one-half (1/2) hour without pay will be allowed. Meals will be provided if an employee is called into work on such short notice that the employee is unable to provide their own meal. For the purpose of this Article, lunch periods shall not be considered to interrupt continuous hours.

  • Seasonal Employees Seasonal employees still on trial service should refer to Article 71, Sections 2 and 3 regarding salary increases.
