Paid hours. The Employer shall provide to designated Nurse 34 Representatives a pool of nine hundred sixty (960) paid hours annually, July 1 1 through June 30, for the activities described herein. These activities include 2 investigation of grievances, attending grievance meetings, attending investigatory 3 and disciplinary meetings, and attending meetings with management 4 representatives regarding Association matters. Time spent in these activities will 5 not be used in the calculation of overtime. If these duties by necessity must 6 occur during a nurse’s scheduled working hours, the nurse shall notify his or her 7 manager in writing prior to engaging in the activities. The manager shall then 8 notify the nurse whether the activities can be undertaken during the nurse’s 9 scheduled working hours. No more than twelve (12) paid hours per week may be 10 used by any given Nurse Representative. The hours referenced in this provision 11 do not include paid time for negotiating team members (see Section 2.8) or for 12 committee activity described in Article 27.

Paid hours. Paid hours mean all hours excluding unpaid union leave (except in the case of salary continuance), time in excess of one (1) year while on Workers’ Compensation, unpaid Leave of Absence (L.O.A.) and overtime.

  • Shift Hours All shifts assigned by the Employer must conform with the following guidelines:

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Extra Hours (a) Any additional hours beyond base hours shall be offered in a fair and impartial manner among "A" list part-time employees in the classification and in the geographical location in which the additional hours are required. Each zone, each bureau and One Yonge Street shall be considered separate geographical locations. A part-time employee who is scheduled to work, (under the terms of Article 7) additional hours beyond the base hours and who does not work those hours due to sickness, shall be paid for such hours under the application of the Sick Leave provisions under Article 13 and Clause (2405).

  • TEACHING HOURS A. The teacher’s normal teaching hours in the secondary and elementary schools shall be as follows:

  • Hours For the purposes of an unpaid 7.5-hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 9.375 hours.

  • Summer Hours a) Every year, for a period of ten (10) weeks, from mid-June to mid-August (exact dates to be posted by the Human Resources Department) the length of the regular work week is reduced by three (3) hours without reduction in remuneration.

  • Scheduled Hours Hours falling within an employee's scheduled tour.

  • Minimum Hours In the event of an employee starting work in any day and being sent home before s/he has completed four (4) hours, s/he shall be paid for four (4) hours at the regular rate of pay. In the event that an employee reports for work but is sent home before commencing work, s/he shall be paid for two (2) hours at regular rates. No pay entitlement will apply if the employee is incapable of performing his/her duties.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Duty Hours 11.01 The regular work week for all employees shall be eighty (80) hours bi-weekly on shifts of eight (8) hours per day. Employees shall not be scheduled to work double shifts as a part of the normal scheduling procedure. The Employer may implement a forty (40) hour workweek on shifts of ten (10) hours per day, according to Departmental needs.
