Graduate Assistants. 2.4.5 For a Graduate Assistant the purpose of the appointment is to provide financial support for a fixed term to assist with the pursuit of a postgraduate qualification at Xxxxxx University. Such an appointment is conditional on concurrent active pursuit of postgraduate studies. Therefore, time not spent by the employee in carrying out his/her employment obligations under this appointment must involve active pursuit of postgraduate study. The employee may not undertake other regular paid employment except with the prior approval of the Vice-Chancellor.

Graduate Assistants. Research Assistants will be notified of the anticipated graduate positions available in the department as early as possible and no later than the third (3rd) Monday in September. Within five (5) working days of the notice, an employee may state their preferred choice of appointment in writing to the department. While efforts will be made to accommodate applicants' preferences, the final allocation will be based on the criteria of Article 16.02 (d).

Graduate Assistants. Preference for bargaining unit faculty shall not operate to prevent graduate assistants from being assigned to teach courses during the academic year in accordance with Graduate College policies, and bargaining unit faculty shall not be given preference for these assignments (except as provided in Article 25, Layoff and Recall). In those departments with doctoral programs, graduate assistants may also teach up to the equivalent of one (three or four credit hour) course in their department in either the Summer I or Summer II session, but shall not displace bargaining unit faculty, who shall be given preference.
Graduate Assistants. (Research) The minimum hourly salary is as follows: Period Rate September 1, 2016 – April 30, 2017 $17.92 May 1, 2017 – December 31, 2017 $17.92 January 1, 2018 – April 30, 2018 Masters students - $17.92 Doctoral students - $20.70 Vacation pay of 4% will be added to all hourly rates of pay.

  • Directory Assistance 72.1 The Parties acknowledge that CenturyLink is not a Directory Assistance (DA) provider. CenturyLink provides directory listings information for its subscribers to third party DA providers to be included in the national and local databases used by such third party providers. The Parties agree that to the extent the DA provider contracted by CLEC for DA services to CLEC’s subscribers also populates the national DA database, then CLEC’s DA listings have been made available to CenturyLink’s subscribers and no further effort is needed by either Party. If for any reason, CLEC desires that CenturyLink act as a middleman conduit for the placement of CLEC’s DA listings in the DA database(s), then CenturyLink shall provide such compensable DA listings service pursuant to separate written terms and conditions between CenturyLink and CLEC which will be attached to this Agreement as an Amendment.

  • Students Payments which a student or business apprentice who is or was immediately before visiting a Contracting State a resident of the other Contracting State and who is present in the first-mentioned State solely for the purpose of his education or training receives for the purpose of his maintenance, education or training shall not be taxed in that State, provided that such payments arise from sources outside that State.

  • Legal Assistance The Board shall give full support including legal and other assistance for any assault upon the employee while properly acting in the discharge of his/her duties.

  • Relocation Assistance The Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, (42 U.S.C. § 4601), prohibits unfair treatment of persons displaced or whose property has been acquired because of Federal or Federal-aid programs and projects.

  • Emergency Assistance Both Parties shall exercise due diligence to avoid or mitigate an Emergency to the extent practical in accordance with applicable requirements imposed by the Standards Authority or contained in the PJM Tariffs and NYISO Tariffs. In avoiding or mitigating an Emergency, both Parties shall strive to allow for commercial remedies, but if commercial remedies are not successful or practical, the Parties agree to be the suppliers of last resort to maintain reliability on the system. For each hour during which Emergency conditions exist in a Party’s Balancing Authority Area, that Party (while still ensuring operations within applicable Reliability Standards) shall determine what commercial remedies are available and make use of those that are practical and needed to avoid or mitigate the Emergency before any Emergency Energy is scheduled in that hour.

  • Financing Assistance O&M Contractor shall cooperate with Owner in connection with Owner’s efforts to obtain and maintain any Financing. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, O&M Contractor: (a) shall execute such typical documents as an operations and maintenance contractor executes in a project finance transaction or as Owner reasonably requests in connection with obtaining and maintaining any Financing, including a consent to assignment and any certifications and opinions required with respect to the Financing in form and substance reasonably acceptable to O&M Contractor, Owner and the Project Lender; (b) shall deliver to Owner and the Project Lender information customarily provided in connection with a project financing in format and content mutually acceptable to the Parties regarding the financial capability of O&M Contractor and shall facilitate reasonable inspections of the Site; (c) shall, at Owner’s reasonable request, attend and participate in presentations to actual and potential Project Lenders; (d) hereby authorizes Owner to (i) provide this Agreement to potential Project Lenders (subject to Section 17.5), and (ii) include a description of the material provisions of this Agreement in any offering circular or document required for the Financing and/or, if the Financing must be registered or otherwise disclosed in accordance with Applicable Law, that Owner may, after consultation with O&M Contractor, file this Agreement as an exhibit to such registration statement or other disclosure; (e) at Owner’s request, shall reasonably cooperate with the independent engineer and any rating agencies or credit enhancement entities associated with a Financing; (f) at Owner’s request, shall reasonably cooperate in connection with tax-exempt Financing or any Financing or other arrangements effected to reduce taxes on the Project or the work, which cooperation shall not include, or be considered or deemed to be, tax advice or planning; and (g) shall provide Owner and the Project Lenders with legal opinions of counsel regarding the execution, delivery and validity of this Agreement, absence of conflicts, and the legal status of O&M Contractor, as Owner or any Project Lender may reasonably request in connection with obtaining and maintaining the Financing, provided that Owner shall reimburse O&M Contractor for any third-party expense reasonably incurred in providing such opinions.

  • Educational Assistance To qualify for reimbursement, an employee must be a regular employee upon enrollment. To be approved, the courses described below must be related to the employee's present position or career development:

  • Audit Assistance Each of the Parties and their respective Subsidiaries are or may be subject to regulation and audit by a Governmental Authority (including a Taxing Authority), standards organizations, customers or other parties to contracts with such Parties or their respective Subsidiaries under applicable Law, standards or contract provisions. If a Governmental Authority, standards organization, customer or other party to a contract with a Party or its Subsidiary exercises its right to examine or audit such Party’s or its Subsidiary’s books, records, documents or accounting practices and procedures pursuant to such applicable Law, standards or contract provisions, and such examination or audit relates to the Services, then the other Party shall provide, at the sole cost and expense of the requesting Party, all assistance reasonably requested by the Party that is subject to the examination or audit in responding to such examination or audits or requests for Information, to the extent that such assistance or Information is within the reasonable control of the cooperating Party and is related to the Services.
