Education Assistance. The lay-off may be eligible to apply for this option if:
Education Assistance. Section 1. The City will pay eighty (80) percent of the tuition costs for courses directly related to a permanent full-time employee’s current position or his preparation for a promotion with a maximum payment of $1,000.00 per year per employee.

Education Assistance. To encourage employee development, the Employer will financially assist individuals who take pre-approved educational courses that are relevant to the Employer’s operations. This assistance is as follows:

Education Assistance is available to employees who enroll in approved classes (including workshops, seminars, or training sessions for which continuing education units (CEU's) are awarded) offered by accredited institutions of higher learning or offered through recognized industry professional organizations for the purpose of either acquiring or maintaining professional certifications and which meet the criteria as established in this article.
Education Assistance. The Employer shall pay 30% for reimbursement of the tuition costs paid by Child Protection Workers to upgrade toward a BSW or MSW degree. This amount will be paid upon proof of the successful completion of courses and tuition payment(s) made, and upon the Employee providing a written commitment to return to work at the Employer for a minimum of twelve (12) months following such completion. The Employee will sign an “Education Agreement” outlining the conditions under which education assistance is provided. The Employer reserves the right to limit the number of applications in a fiscal year depending upon availability of funds.
