Employment Insurance Premium Reduction. The employees’ share of the Employer’s Employment Insurance (EI) reduction will be retained by the Employer towards offsetting the cost of the benefits contained in this Agreement. Sick benefits will only cease at date of layoff or termination of employment if the disability started within two (2) months of the date of layoff or separation and notice of layoff or separation was given prior to the occurrence of the disability. Otherwise, payment of sick leave benefits will continue after layoff or termination until the lesser of the duration of the disability or the exhaustion of the paid sick bank, or seventy-five (75) days.
