The School Division Sample Clauses

The School Division clause defines the organizational structure and responsibilities of the school division within a larger educational or administrative agreement. It typically outlines the scope of authority, governance, and operational duties assigned to the school division, such as managing educational programs, overseeing staff, and handling budgets. By clearly delineating these roles and responsibilities, the clause ensures effective management and accountability within the educational framework, preventing overlaps or confusion between different administrative bodies.
The School Division and the Association shall proceed to arbitration by a sole arbitrator. The sole arbitrator must be mutually agreed to by the parties within fifteen (15) operational days of receipt of the arbitration notice, after which either party may request the Director of Mediation Services to appoint a Chair.
The School Division retains all management rights, unless otherwise provided by the expressed terms of this collective agreement.
The School Division at its discretion, may recognize a vocational teacher's trade and teaching experience by initially placing him on a step of the basic salary schedule which will provide a salary commensurate with the income in business, trade, or industry, provided that his placement shall not exceed the maximum step in the applicable category, and provided that the School Division will effect a minimum placement on the basis of one (1) year of teaching experience for two (2) years of related trade experience.
The School Division at its discretion, may recognize, for teacher education purposes, a senior high CTS teacher's technical trade qualifications limited to one further year beyond the teacher's current TQS evaluation.
The School Division may require any person employed by it to undergo a medical examination by a physician named or approved by the School Division.
The School Division may grant a sabbatical leave for a period of less than one (1) year but greater than one (1) month. A teacher granted such leave shall receive an allowance prorated to the amount provided in clause 9.
The School Division may require a teacher to submit to a medical examination by a medical practitioner mutually acceptable to both parties. The expense of the medical examination will be borne by the School Division.
The School Division at its expense, may require a medical examination by a medical practitioner of its choice.
The School Division may pay for non-credit courses that enable teachers to perform their job efficiently, at the rate of two hundred dollars ($200.00) per course or the rate of the registration fee, whichever is the lesser of the two figures. The course must be approved by the superintendent of schools.
The School Division reserves the right to give special consideration for special qualification, service, or situation until a place is established in the agreement for same.
