COURT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. An APT member who is called for jury duty or subpoenaed by any body in Canada with power to do so, shall be granted leave of absence with pay. If the APT member is the plaintiff or defendant, leave will be without pay, or chargeable against vacation credits. The APT member shall inform the Director or equivalent as soon as possible after receiving notification of being required to appear. Any payments, other than expenses, made to the APT member as a result of the court appearance as a witness or juror shall be remitted to the University.
COURT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 30.1 The Employer agrees to pay employees for the period of time, including driving time for which they are required to appear before a court, judge, justice, magistrate, attorney, inquest or other function of the court as a plaintiff, defendant, or witness as a result of an incident that occurred during the performance of their duties. If the said time period falls during the employee's normal work period, the employee shall be compensated as if they had worked these hours. If the employee is not scheduled to work, the employee shall be compensated at the overtime rate of pay.

Such instance would include, but not be limited to, criminal or civil cases, traffic court, divorce proceedings, custody, or appearing as directed as parent or custodian of juveniles. Any work-related court attendance on behalf of the Cuyahoga County Airport outside of regular hours is paid even on off days. The employee shall furnish proof by attaching the court notification to the Request for Leave form.

COURT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 16.1 When a classified employee is subpoenaed to testify in a case in which s/he is not a party or is summoned to serve on a jury, s/he will be granted leave when such subpoena or summons is presented. During any such absence, an employee will be entitled to receive his/her regular salary and benefits s/he would normally receive. Upon completion of jury/court witness service, employees will forward any compensation received from the court or other party to the District. Employees may keep reimbursement received for out-of-pocket expenses such as meals, mileage, and lodging, unless the District has paid or reimbursed the employee for the expenses.
