Sick Leave During Leave of Absence. (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.
Sick Leave During Leave of Absence. When a Member is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off, and returns to the service of the Employer upon expiration of such leave of absence etc., the Member shall not receive sick leave credits for the period of such absence, but shall retain the Member's eligibility for credits, if any, existing at the time of such leave.

An employee who is ill at the time a leave of absence without pay concludes or at the time of recall to work following lay-off, shall be entitled to claim use of accumulated sick leave credits for the duration of the illness or to the extent credits provide.
Sick Leave During Leave of Absence. (a) When an employee is on leave of absence without pay she shall retain her accumulated sick leave if any. Such an employee shall not be entitled to sick leave benefits provided by this Article 17 while on leave of absence without pay.
(b) If an employee commences sick leave prior to a planned leave of absence, the employee may choose to not go on the leave and to instead have the sick leave benefits continued until she either uses all her sick leave credits or she qualifies for long term disability benefits or Workers' Compensation benefits.

15.07 a) Retroactive to the date any contributions to a retirement plan commences, employees shall have all prior accumulated sick leave credits frozen at the levels accumulated at that date. Such frozen sick leave credit banks may be reduced accordingly by utilization for non- compensable disabilities and illnesses. Payments for illness or disability shall be based upon the employee's wage rate in effect at the time the retirement plan first commenced.

If an employee retires, after completing twenty years service with the Corporation and having less than three (3) months' sick time allowance to his credit, sufficient sick leave time is to be allowed so as to provide for an allowance of three months; except where sick leave time allowance to his credit is less than three months as a result of sick leave used immediately before his retirement, in which case he shall receive payment for unused sick leave accumulated at the time of his retirement.
