Paternity Leave. An employee about to become a father shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence of up to five (5) days at the time of birth of his child or the adoption of pre-school-age child or children. The employee may use one (1) week's vacation at his option.
Paternity Leave. An employee whose spouse has given birth of a child shall be entitled to five days leave with pay for the purpose of maintaining the household during the spouse's confinement in hospital. Such leave equivalent to the period of confinement may be deferred until the spouse's return from hospital upon written approval of the City Manager. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

Paternity Leave. Up to two (2) days leave with pay per child shall be granted in any one calendar year by the Chief Administrative Officer. Such leave may be granted on any day in the period beginning with the day of admission and surrounding the release day from the hospital. Where the birth does not occur in a hospital, the leave of up to two (2) days may be taken to embrace the time of birth.
Paternity Leave. The member shall be entitled to use Family Leave days per Section 12.11.1 and then be granted twelve (12) days of differential pay in the event of medical disability caused or contributed to by pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, and recovery therefrom (to the mother of the employee's child). The date on which the leave shall commence shall be determined by the employee and the physician caring for the mother of the employee's child. Such time must be within reasonable time before or after birth.

Paternity Leave. Paternity leave up to three (3) days shall be granted to fathers at the time of the birth or adoption of the child or premature termination of pregnancy and shall be deducted from sick leave.

A bargaining unit faculty member who is on active pay status upon a pregnant spouse’s delivery is granted, within one-hundred and eighty (180) days of the delivery, twenty (20) working days of paid paternity leave which will not be taken from sick days, but which will run concurrently with any available FMLA leave.

A male employee shall be granted leave of absence with pay for five (5) days coincident with either the birth or adoption of the child for the needs related to the birth or adoption of his child.NOTE: in the case where the child’s release from Hospital is delayed after birth, at the request of the male employee the five (5) days leave of absence with instead pay will be coincident with the release of the child from Hospital.
Paternity Leave. Upon request, paternity leave without pay shall be granted to natural or adoptive parents not to exceed six (6) months. All provisions of Section 12.5 shall apply to this paternity leave provision.
