Personal Business Leaves. The parties agree there may be personal conditions or circumstances, which may require teacher absenteeism for other reasons than heretofore mentioned. The Board agrees that such leave may be used under the following conditions:

Personal Business Leaves. 13.1 Personal business leave of three (3) days each year without loss of pay or deducted from sick leave shall be granted in cases where such business cannot be conducted after work hours or on weekends. Personnel requesting business days shall give adequate notice together with a reason for the time off. Unused days will be converted to sick days. Personal business days shall not be used to extend a scheduled break unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Personal Business Leaves. Employees shall be entitled to three (3) additional days of leaves of absence without loss of pay for religious, personal, legal, business, household, or family matters which require absence during school hours. Notification for such leave will be delivered to the Superintendent’s office prior to the close of business two (2) working days prior to the requested personal leave day, except in case of emergency. (Example: a request for a personal leave day on Wednesday must be filed in the Superintendent’s Office before the close of business on the previous Monday.) Such leave, except for emergency and religious reasons, will not be granted so as to extend a holiday or vacation period. Employees shall not be required to state the reason for taking such leave other than that such leave is taken under this Section. If an employee does not use all of his or her personal leave days in a year, up to two such remaining personal days will he added to the employee’s accumulated sick leave.
Personal Business Leaves. Any employee may use one (1) day of leave for unstated reasons of personal business which are too confidential to be specifically described to the Superintendent by any employee. The parties agree that the employee shall give at least forty-eight (48) hours notice prior to the beginning of the shift and shall not use such non-accumulative leave for reasons of recreational activities or to extend holiday or vacation periods. An employee not using his or her one-day annual personal business leave will receive a stipend of fifty (50) percent of his or her daily rate of pay. Personal business leave will not be deducted from a sick leave balance.

Personal Business Leaves. A cafeteria manager will be allowed three (3) days for personal business which cannot be transacted during contracted hours. The employee taking such leave will give their immediate supervisor ample advance notification whenever possible. A personal day may not be used before/after a vacation/holiday period except under the following conditions:

The Company shall at its sole discretion, grant an employee a leave of absence for personal business with the approval of the Human Resources Office.
