Personal Business Leave. 12.9.1 Each employee shall be entitled to one (1) day in total of paid leave annually for the purpose of conducting personal business. Leave under this section shall be granted when the employee notifies his/her supervisor in writing forty-eight hours in advance and may not be taken in increments smaller than 50% of the total day.
Personal Business Leave. Up to four (4) days may be stipulated as personal business leave days. Personal business leave is provided for personal business of a nonprofit nature that cannot be taken care of outside of working hours. Personal Business Leave. A regular full-time employee shall be granted three (3) days of non-cumulative personal business leave with pay to be used each year. Personal business leave is available only when the employee cannot attend to necessary personal business on non-working hours. Personal business leave days are calculated on a fiscal year basis (July 1 to June 30). Personal business leave shall be taken in no less than one (1) hour increments, effective January 3, 2022. An employee requesting personal business leave must provide three (3) work days (Monday through Friday) prior notice and have the advance approval of their supervisor except in an emergency when such approval shall be requested as soon as possible thereafter. Personal business leave will not be granted for the work day immediately before or after a holiday, vacation, or sick leave. Nor shall personal business leave be allowed during an employee's first six-months of her/his probationary period or during the last two (2) weeks of employment. Personal business leave days which are unused each year shall be added to the employee’s accumulated sick leave.

Personal Business Leave. 1. All regularly employed teachers shall be allowed to use up to three (3) personal business days each year out of the twelve (12) sick days credited per year. These personal business days may only be used to take care of a personal business problem that could not be taken care of after school hours or on non-school days.
Personal Business Leave. 1. The Board shall provide each Teacher signing their first four (4) contracts with the Board with three (3) days of paid personal business leave during the school year. In the event a Teacher teaches less than a full school year for any reason, including but not limited to resignation, termination, or the length of their contract, the Board shall prorate this paid personal business leave as follows: days paid divided by one hundred eighty-three (183) multiplied by three (3) rounded to the nearest one-half (1/2) day.

Unit members employed on or after February 1 shall receive one (1) work day of personal business leave. Effective July 1, 2006, unused personal business leave days may be accumulated up to no greater than five (5) days. On July 1 of each year any personal business days in excess of five (5) will be converted to sick leave days. Personal business leave may be requested, with at least three (3) work days advance notice, through the appropriate principal or department head who shall not require a reason for the leave. If, however, an unforeseen circumstance requires the member’s absence which could not be approved three days in advance, the reason for the absence shall be stated and the principal or department head may, at his/her discretion, approve the absence as a day of personal business leave. Personal business leave may be denied when, in the judgment of the principal or supervisor, the member’s absence would impair the educational process. Personal business leave shall not be taken immediately before or immediately after a holiday or weekday when school is closed on the master calendar, or on an in-service day for teachers, or at the beginning (first five scheduled work days) or the end of the school year (last five scheduled work days). If, however, a circumstance requires the member’s absence on one or more of the foregoing days, the member may request use of personal business leave through the principal. The principal or supervisor may, at his/her discretion, approve the absence as a day of personal business leave. In normal circumstances a member shall not use more than three (3) consecutive personal business days at one time. Exceptions to the foregoing restrictions on days to be used for personal business leave may be made by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for circumstances which require the member’s absence on these days.
