Jury or Witness Leave. The Employer shall grant Leave of Absence without loss of seniority to an Employee who is required to serve as a juror or who is subpoenaed to serve as a witness in Court. The Employer shall pay such an Employee their normal earnings. The payment they receive for service as a juror or as a witness, excluding payment for travel, meals, or other expenses, will be returned to the Employer. The Employee will present proof of service to the Employer, along with copies of payment for services they receive as a juror or as a witness.

Jury or Witness Leave. Leave without loss of pay shall be granted to a Long-Term Occasional Teacher to serve as a juror or to respond to a subpoena as a witness in any proceedings to which the Long-Term Occasional Teacher is not a party or one of the persons charged, provided that the Long-Term Occasional Teacher pays to the Employer any fee, exclusive of traveling and living expenses, that the teacher receives as a juror or as a witness.

Jury or Witness Leave. Leave of absence with pay shall be granted to an employee who is required to attend jury duty, or where an employee is summoned as a witness in a legal proceeding other than a legal proceeding occasioned by the employee’s private affairs. If an employee receives any fees or stipend for being a witness or juror, he shall give same to the Employer excluding any amount which is for reimbursement of expenses paid him for being a witness or juror.
