In-Service Leave. 5.9.1 A Unit Member may be granted an in-service leave subject to the approval of the Superintendent/President or designee, and the Governing Board of the District. In- service leaves may be granted for purposes of attending conferences, workshops, clinics, meetings or off-campus visitations.

In-Service Leave. A. Each unit member shall be entitled to three (3) days of paid leave each school year for the purpose of improving his/her professional competency. Additional days may be granted with the approval of the Superintendent or Principal.
In-Service Leave. Upon prior approval, each unit member may be granted two (2) days paid leave each school year for the purposes of improving his/her performance. Such leave may be used to observe classes and/or programs in other schools or districts.

In-Service Leave. A faculty member will be provided paid leave each school year for the purpose of professional development. Such leave may be used to visit classes in other schools or attend educational workshops and conferences related to his/her work assignment. Prior approval must be granted by the faculty member’s administrative supervisor and the Superintendent or the Superintendent’s Designee. The Superintendent or Superintendent’s Designee, administrative supervisor, and the faculty member must agree that the intended activity merits an in-service leave. In-services or trainings attended during non-duty days will not result in additional compensation for faculty members unless otherwise agreed upon by the District.
In-Service Leave. If a unit member is deemed by the District to be rendering unsatisfactory service, the District may grant the unit member released time to observe other teachers in the District in order to help the unit member improve.
In-Service Leave. 8.8.1 For the purpose of in-service education and extended classroom responsibility, unit members shall be granted one visiting day per academic year. Arrangements shall be made by the unit member following plans developed by the Director/Manager and the unit member. Such in-service leaves shall be subject to the approval of the Director/Manager. The County Office shall provide an additional visiting day when necessitated by a significant change in a unit member’s assignment. Significant changes are defined as: (1) change in class type (e.g. Autism to SMH); (2) change in grade level (e.g. change from elementary to secondary or vice versa); and (3) program change from one program to another (e.g. ECE to Court and Community).
