Common use of In-Service Leave Clause in Contracts

In-Service Leave. Teachers may be granted one (1) day or less paid leave for each school year for the purpose of (a) visiting another school or department within the District or in another district for professional improvement, or (b) attending a conference at the teacher's own expense, which has been approved by the Associate Superintendent of Educational Services. In any instance, advance approval must be given. The teacher shall apply for such approval to the principal.
