Illness While on Vacation. If, while on vacation, an employee becomes ill and is under the care of a physician and submits a physician's statement, the employee may use accumulated sick leave for that personal illness. Sick leave may not be used for illness of a family member during the employees' vacation.
Illness While on Vacation. If an employee becomes ill while on vacation, the time of actual illness may be charged against accumulated sick leave, subject to sick leave requirements.
Illness While on Vacation. 24 In the event an employee becomes ill during his/her vacation, the employee upon return will submit a 25 written request to have sick leave applied rather than vacation. Such requests may require a doctor’s 26 verification indicating the dates of illnesses.
Illness While on Vacation. While on authorized paid vacation, an employee may request to revert to leave of absence for illness or injury if the employee suffers a personal illness or injury which requires hospitalization and/or house confinement under doctor’s orders. The employee’s request must be submitted in writing to his/her supervisor or designee within three (3) working days after his/her return to duty. A written verification from the hospital or private physician (whichever applies) must accompany the employee’s request and be approved by the Director of Classified Personnel or designee. When all or part of an employee’s vacation is to be processed as sick leave, the appropriate vacation credit shall be restored to the employee’s earned vacation balance. The credited vacation may be rescheduled in accordance with this Agreement.
Illness While on Vacation. In the event that an employee is sick for a period of a week or more during the employee's annual vacation, the employee shall be entitled to take the lost vacation period with pay at a different time, provided the period is charged against the employee's sick leave credits. The employee must provide a certificate from the employee's physician stating the employee would not have been able to work because of the sickness.
Illness While on Vacation. If while an employee is on vacation and is stricken ill, the days the employee was ill shall be charged from accumulated sick leave days and the corresponding previously charged vacation days shall be reinstated and credited back.
Illness While on Vacation. Accumulated sick leave credits may be substituted for hours of vacation interrupted where it can be established by the employee to the satisfaction of the Employer that an illness or accident occurred prior to the commencement of the vacation and that the illness or the accident was such that the vacation plans of the employee were interrupted.
Illness While on Vacation. When an employee becomes ill or is injured or quarantined while on vacation, the period of such illness, injury, or quarantine may be charged to sick leave if the employee submits a written certification from a medical doctor or other recognized practitioner confirming his illness, injury, or quarantine as specified in the Sick Leave Article of this Contract.
Illness While on Vacation. While on vacation should illness or injury occur which would have required the employee to take Income Protection Plan benefits from work, that portion of vacation leave shall subsequently be cancelled and deducted from the Income Protection Plan on presentation of medical certificate(s) to the appropriate Manager.
Illness While on Vacation. Time spent ill, while on vacation leave, shall be applied to sick leave rather than vacation leave provided that the illness of the employee was of such a nature to preclude the effective use of vacation and the illness would prevent the employee from performing the employee's regular job duties for the Agency; and further, provided that the employee must notify the employee's supervisor prior to the end of the vacation leave and request that the time spent ill while on vacation leave be applied to sick leave.
