EXTRA WORK AND OVERTIME. Employees who are asked to work additional hours beyond their originally contracted duty day shall be paid his/her pay grade hourly wage if forty (40) hours or under during a work week. It shall not be the general policy of the Board to have its employees work frequent or consistent overtime. However, when employees are directed or allowed to work overtime, in addition to their regular hours, aggregating more than a maximum of forty (40) hours per week, they shall be compensated as follows: The rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) of the normal rate shall be paid for all hours in pay status per week over the regular weekly task assignment aggregating more than a maximum of 40 hours per week. Giving consideration to the organizational subdivisions of the Board, assignments and shifts, the Board shall distribute overtime among employees as equally as practicable. Overtime worked shall be reflected on the pay stub. Calculations for overtime compensation shall be made as soon as possible following the working of overtime. Whenever possible, overtime shall be paid in the pay period in which it was earned, but in no event shall it be paid later than the next pay period immediately following the pay period in which it was earned. Time off may be granted in lieu of overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2), provided same is consistent with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

  • HOURS AND OVERTIME 3:1 A workweek is defined as seven (7) consecutive calendar days, from Saturday midnight to Saturday midnight. The basic workweek shall consist of five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours each and shall begin Monday and run through Friday, except when a job other than for a public utility is to be done on Saturday, then the Company may assign another day as a non-workday and Saturdays becomes a workday in the basic workweek. An extended workweek shall begin at starting time Monday and continue until the next Monday starting time. The regular hours of work for all employees shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with an unpaid meal period of thirty (30) minutes which normally will be from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. provided, however, that the regular lunch period may be advance or delayed an hour or less when work must necessarily be performed during the regular lunch period. Such a change in the lunch period shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime. The regular hours of work may be changed by the Company at the request or direction of the public utility or governmental authorities, and by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union. The Company may change the start times by 30 minutes in either direction of the regular start time to meet the operational need without union approval. Such a change in the regular hours of work shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime.

  • Overtime Work A. Overtime pay is to be paid at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the basic hourly straight-time rate.

  • Extra Work At any time during the Term of this Agreement, City may request that Consultant perform Extra Work. As used herein, “Extra Work” means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.

  • Shift Work Shift work is work not in excess of ordinary hours (ie 38 hours per week), but carried out wholly or partly between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, Monday to Friday. Shift work is work scheduled at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the shift. Employees required to work shift work will be paid at time and one quarter of the ordinary rate per hour for ordinary hours worked.

The normal work week shall be Monday through Friday and the normal workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Overtime Scheduling (A) It is the intent of the City, consistent with efficient and effective operation of the Division of Police, to distribute in an equitable manner, all pre-scheduled overtime among all members. Recognition will be given to the qualifications of the members and the requirements placed on the City by any third party funding sources. Any complaints by members that pre-scheduled overtime is not being equitably distributed among all qualified members as described above may be brought by the Lodge directly to the Chief's attention at Step 3 of the Grievance Procedure and shall also be a proper subject for discussion in a Labor Relations Committee meeting. Inability to work a prescheduled overtime assignment due to illness or death in the family or injury will not require the member to charge such absence against sick leave or injury leave.
