Ceremonial/Cultural Leave. Definitions for the purpose of this clause
Ceremonial/Cultural Leave. 45.1 Ceremonial/Cultural Leave may be granted, to employees who have a ritual obligation to participate in ceremonial activity which requires absence from work. Such leave will also include leave to meet the employee’s custom and traditional laws and should not be limited to Aborigines and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islanders.
Ceremonial/Cultural Leave. An employee who is legitimately required to be absent from work for their tribal/ceremonial/cultural purposes shall be entitled to take accrued annual leave entitlements or leave without pay. Such ceremonial/cultural leave shall include leave to meet the employees' customs, traditional law and to participate in ceremonial/cultural activities. Ceremonial leave shall be available but not limited to Aboriginals and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islanders.
Ceremonial/Cultural Leave. An employee who is legitimately required by indigenous tradition to be absent from work for Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander Ceremonial or Cultural purposes will be entitled to access their accrued paid personal/carer’s leave entitlements. In addition, 5 working day’s unpaid leave in any one year may be accessed for these purposes. Such leave is subject to the approval of the Employer and notice/evidence requirements as per Clause 34.

An Employee who is legitimately required by Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander or other cultural/ethnic tradition to be absent from work for ceremonial purposes will be entitled to up to ten (10) working days unpaid leave in any one year with the approval of Maari Ma.
Ceremonial/Cultural Leave. Employees who are adherent to Aboriginal culture and practice Aboriginal spiritual beliefs, or employees who have a recognised cultural or religious identity, shall be afforded a maximum of ten (10 ) pro rata paid days per year to practise the requirements of that cultural or spiritual belief. Ceremonial \ Cultural leave is non-accumulative and will not accrue from year to year. An employee and an employer may agree to extend the period of paid or unpaid leave for ceremonial purposes. Leave under this clause must be applied for writing on a leave application form and approved in advance by a delegated person before the employee commences this leave.

  • Extended Medical Leave A teacher who is unable to teach because of personal illness or disability and who has exhausted all available sick leave shall be granted leave for up to one (1) year. Any request for this leave must state the probable date of return and be accompanied by a verifying physician's statement. If the leave was granted as a result of a work related injury the employee may request and shall be granted a one (1) year extension of this leave. Before returning, such teacher must submit a physician's release. To be eligible for an extended medical leave of absence, an employee must have been actively employed on paid status with APS a minimum of one contract year immediately prior to the leave start date. All intermittent medical leaves will be addressed according to FMLA regulations.

  • Legal Leave 19.12.1The University shall grant leave of absence with pay to a member of faculty who is called to serve as a juror or a witness in a court of law in a matter in which he/she is not a party or an accused.
