Promotions and Demotions. A. Promotions or transfers within the bargaining unit, either temporary or permanent, shall be made primarily on the basis of bargaining unit seniority and qualifications, but disciplinary records may be considered. Job vacancies will be posted for a period of seven (7) calendar days setting forth the minimum requirements for the position in a conspicuous place where the punch clocks are located. Employees interested shall apply within the seven (7) calendar day posting period.
Promotions and Demotions. A. Salary on Promotion: Employees covered by this Agreement who move to a higher classification shall be placed on the appropriate step which will result in a salary equal to or greater than the salary that would have been paid on the previous classification plus one step.
Promotions and Demotions. (a) Whenever a vacancy occurs under the Unit "A", or Collective Agreements, a part-time member who has completed probationary period may apply for the position. If no suitable applicant is found the Board may fill the vacancy with a part-time member as the need maybe, who has not completed probationary period. If this occurs, the number of hours worked as a part- time member shall count towards the duration of the full-time probationary period on the basis that regular hours worked equals one calendar month. Lesser or greater amounts of part-time regular hours shall be pro- rated accordingly. In addition to any statutory requirements the selection shall be made on the basis of skill, ability and efficiency from among the applicants and where such factors are relatively equal, seniority shall govern. The Board shall notify every such applicant of acceptance or non-acceptance. The Board shall forward to the Association notice of every appointment or promotion affecting any member covered by this Collective Agreement.

(a) Any nurse who is promoted to a higher paid classification shall receive the salary that is applicable for the new classification at the same increment level as his/her salary in the classification from which he/she was promoted and the date of such promotion shall become the service anniversary date.

Promotions and Demotions. 14.01 If an employee is promoted or reclassified other than on a temporary basis, to a higher-rated job group, he/she shall receive not less than the rate that he was receiving at the time of the promotion, or the starting rate for the job, into which he is being promoted, whichever is the higher, and shall be advanced through the rates for the job group as provided in Schedule “A.”

Preference will be given to the qualified employee with the greatest plant seniority who is willing to perform the job concerned except where the skills, competence, efficiency of any other employee concerned are evidently greater.
