Promotions and Demotions. A. Promotions or transfers within the bargaining unit, either temporary or permanent, shall be made primarily on the basis of bargaining unit seniority and qualifications, but disciplinary records may be considered. Job vacancies will be posted for a period of seven (7) calendar days setting forth the minimum requirements for the position in a conspicuous place where the punch clocks are located. Employees interested shall apply within the seven (7) calendar day posting period.
Promotions and Demotions. A. Salary on Promotion: Employees covered by this Agreement who move to a higher classification shall be placed on the appropriate step which will result in a salary equal to or greater than the salary that would have been paid on the previous classification plus one step.
Promotions and Demotions. (a) Whenever a vacancy occurs under the Unit "A", or Collective Agreements, a part-time member who has completed probationary period may apply for the position. If no suitable applicant is found the Board may fill the vacancy with a part-time member as the need maybe, who has not completed probationary period. If this occurs, the number of hours worked as a part- time member shall count towards the duration of the full-time probationary period on the basis that regular hours worked equals one calendar month. Lesser or greater amounts of part-time regular hours shall be pro- rated accordingly. The Board shall notify every such applicant of acceptance or non-acceptance. The Board shall forward to the Association notice of every appointment or promotion affecting any member covered by this Collective Agreement.
